Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
-
Went on an old thread binge this evening. Side note - fuck photo bucket and all it’s pic blocking….anyways...
IH did some really amazing things with corduroy. The shirts are definitely a given. I have the 73 and love it and would love to see some colors other than indigo for corduroy shirts in the future....olive or hunter green, dark brown (since we won’t get the khaki in the 16 :(), rust/burnt orange would be lovely
Also, corduroy in some pieces other than shirts. I know the IH 6526J wasn’t hugely successful but it’s fecking epic IMHO and perhaps a modified with longer body and hand pockets or maybe blanket lined for some extra appeal.
I also caught a glimpse of the 634 corduroys in the outlet. Not my size (otherwise I would have copped in a second), but that got my head spinning. Some corduroy bottoms in prery much any color would be awesome.
Again, I get these may not have been hot sellers in the past, hence nothing being made recently, but thought I would throw my two cents in

I put in a yearly suggestion for the 6526J to return. That’s the one that got away for me, but I lucked into some 634’s in cord and they are my favorite pants. Truly fantastic.

The corduroy used in the 6634 and 6526J is really special. Ages beautifully. Super windproof too. Love the stuff.

I hope that the heavy serge cargo pants will be remade, wether in 23 oz or lighter. Would love something in the middle, like 16 oz.

I just bought a size S for my wife off the market (I’m actually really jealous). 3sixteen is running a rancher corduroy jacket this season, but the measurements just weren’t there for me.
I just really need some IH corduroy in my life
didn't like the style of the 3sixteen rancher.
IH cord jacket! -

IH cord jacket! It wasn't 100% my jam either in terms of style, but alas, sometimes beggars can't be choosers….

Pherrows has a corduroy ranch jacket that might be up your alley. I think it looks pretty cool.

I'm sure I mentioned this in a different thread but i'd like to see lighter-weight shirting options, and by lighter-weight I mean traditional cotton shirting like poplin or cotton options similar to Levi's. I have a Levi's western that is pretty thin by IH standards but it's something I frequently wear when it gets warm out. Plus, I can only wear my UHF's about 6 months out of the year, so having an ultra light option would mean being able to have shirts to wear going into summer. Blue Owl Workshop used to sell a couple of Westerns by Blue Blue Japan that were lighter weight, sadly, the fit didn't work for me so I had to pass them up. I don't know how practical this is for IH, let alone if it's the aesthetic that fits the IH mold. I just know if I had an ultra light IH western i'd wear the sh*t out of it.

IH has done poplin shirts but I agree, more lighter weight shirts are always welcome IMO.

Cord won't happen. It sold like crap in Japan and I can't commit to the massive minimum quantities required for a corduroy run. And we aren't going to make stuff out of any old shitty corduroy that H has not designedc….Sorry
Makes complete sense, still a shame given to how amazing the fabric seems to be. I read in the thread the corduroy was your initial idea G, so cheers to spearheading a product that seems to have been ahead of its time…
Also, please don’t be offended/frustrated by our annual requests, they are the utmost compliment (at least IMHO :))
