RE: Ship John
@Nik is correct, those pants are The Shop Vancouver x Y2 1.3mm natural horsehide saddle pants. TJ over at The Shop Vancouver had been doing a ton of collabs with Y2 and introduced some steerhide leather pants awhile back and then started doing some horsehide. They interested me but were coming up too short in the inseam department (32-33ish range) and I really didn't know if I could pull them off, they are leather pants afterall. And for the price point, I really couldnt justify an item I didn't think I resell. Then midsummer he announced these badboys and that they were coming in 34-36ish inseam and I knew it was a sign.
Fast foward about 4 months, I have been wearing these regularly since late summer and as they've broken in, they've become a favorite regular in my rotation....but I'm still learning how to accessorize them as they do have a different ethetic than denim. I'm looking forward to adding TJ's black teacore variant to my rotation here soon as I've been bitten by the leather pants bug
So to tie this all back to the thread topic (sorry I went off the Ship John topic path), I was so grateful to find the Wills went very nicely with these britches as they both have fairly significant break in times and its nice to be able to wear them both in tandem.

RE: IHSH-101-BB - Ultra Heavy Flannel Blue/Black Buffalo Check Western Shirt
Really happy with this one. Prolly the best fit out of the bag from and IH shirt that I've owned.
I typically go with a XXXL for the best body/arm length but then have a baggy-ier fit for the rest of the shirt With these a XXL is perfect and now the chest and shoulders are a better fit.
I am thinking I will have to cop the red, green, and purple if they have same fit…my bank account hates me but I getting excited for fall already!
Sorry for the spotty angles and lighting, but I wanted to throw these up before we left town for the weekend.

RE: IHSW-45-BLK - Windproof Stand Up Collar Sweater - Black
Quick n’ dirty fresh out the bag.
How the fuck did you guys do it? This is unlike anything material I’ve ever felt. If almost feels like denim.
This this is next level. I’m just blown away.

RE: User Experiences
At the suggestion of Giles, I am copying and pasting the following here. It was originally posted in another thread, but obviously is more appropriate here. If you have already read it, I apologize for the repeatedness…
A few years back, after watching the documentary "The True Cost", I made it my mission to buy clothing responsibly. I was always very away of they style and look of my clothing, but never really where or how it was made. Red Wings, vintage made USA clothing, and RRL (at least the USA made collections), really introduced me to quality and craftsmanship in terms of clothing and an obsession began.
Then one day about two and half years ago while looking for some heavier weight denim (and to be honest, I cannot even remember what I was searching for or what Google rabbit hole I went into) I came across Iron Heart. And I was intrigued. While I was a little questioning of a $400 price tag, I was very interested in the 25oz XHS (I mean how could anyone not be, the description says it caused needles in the sewing process to explode for Christ's sake!) and I decided to pull the trigger. Axel talked me through the process (more like held my hand - best customer service on the planet) and before I knew it, I had my first pair of IH denim (still have, and is my favorite pair). Little did I know my life would be changed.
I am not exaggerating when I say the forum changed my life. At first I was a little bit confused about what it was and I was even nervous to contribute. After all, there seemed to be a pretty close knit community already in place. As I began to read through the various threads I found there were people from all over the world from all walks of life, some forum legends whose reputations were well known, there were people people who had a wealth of knowledge regarding all things wearable, there veterans who had been buying IH since it was still just TW, some who have disappeared, and then of course there were all the variety of names (some of you guys have some really fuckin' weird ones :)). All this to say, there was a lot going on and it was a little intimidating for an IH "newbie" like me.
But one day, I just decided to contribute to a conversation, and I was welcomed. And then I decided to contribute to another, and I was welcomed. And this happened over and over and over again until I had made connections with so many of you people that I felt a part of this community and am on the forum on a daily basis. And being a part of this community means so much to me. To have a place where we can share our passion, and ask questions, and have input in what IH is doing, it has solidified my loyalty to IH and allowed me to connect with people I would have never connected with.
Its funny cause sometimes my wife will jokingly say things like "Why don't you go ask your friends on the forum"?
So thank you Mods for all you have done and continue to do to make this a place for people like us. Thank you IHUK crew for being the best goddamn crew I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Thank you Giles (and H) for your infinite patience, answering all our questions (even when you have already done so...in the thread...three pages ago :)), and keeping IH the world-class outfit it is.
And thank you to all the members here who contribute once in awhile or everyday. I am grateful to have found you all and am even more grateful you have allowed me to contribute and be a part of the community.
Aside from the clothing (which is obvious), I feel the forum is key to what makes IH great and truly unique, in my experience.

RE: IH-6634-BRN - 14oz Heavy Corduroy Straight Cut Pants - Brown
It sounds blasphemous but I have machine dried these to get any shrinkage in some looser areas….I know it messes with the rear leather patch but I figured these are in their forever home with me and the patch is gonna take a beating anyways….just felt like sharing

RE: IHSH-398-CAM - 11oz Corduroy Western Shirt - Camel
Find you someone who looks at you the way Sam B is looking at whatever is to his left....the irony is that is the exact same look on my face as I drool over this peice and these pics. I think I can only descibe this piece as pure sex. Oh man, the color, the wale, the imagined hand-feel, the pearl snaps....straight fire IH

RE: IHSH-264-RED - Ultra Heavy Flannel Ombré Check Western Shirt - Red/Black
You can always try hot washing and get some shrinkage, that said you risk shrinking the length at that point too.
I am in the same boat being a taller slimmer guy and my MO since I started with IH has been to size up to a XXL to get the body/sleeve length I need. An IH old timer said something along time ago that always stuck with me, unfortunately with clothing produced on this scale, sizing will always be a compromise given the measurements are not custom to everyone’s individual frame. Some shirts I have feel like they were made for me, others have areas that are a bit loose depending on how they were sewn up given that they are made by humans which allows for variances. This is especially true if you have an outlier build (ie, like you and I, taller and slimmer).
So I doubt there will be drastic changes in FW of 24 measurements as IH has really nailed down consistency in terms of measurements (back in the day there could be very noticeable variances between shirts of the same season) and your best bet would be to decide which compromise works best for you or find a way to alter measurements (hot washing, taking to a tailor, etc) -

Oftentimes, the only person that prevents someone from pulling something off is themselves.
100%. So many times I've been hesitant to take a risk clothing wise and then I just jump in the deep end with something, end up loving it, and wonder what took me so long to take the plunge haha

RE: Samples - New Products We Are Working On
Dude.....those navy and burgundy crewnecks are gonna be SOOO sick!
I am counting the days till the temp drops enough to break out the black and olive ones again.I've said it once and I'll say it again - the hoodies/zip ups/crewnecks are really the unsung heroes of the IH offerings!
