Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

I couldn't pull it off, but I'd love to see a 21 oz denim jumpsuit.
-
We'll consider doing a lined type III for next fall/winter….
What kind of lining you are thinking G? Sheepskin? Alpaca? Sherpa?

I hope it's alpaca, only because i've never seen an alpaca lined type 3 before. the broader question would be, how the hell do you wash alpaca fur? would you have to take it to a specialty dry cleaner?
-
No, don't be silly. You have to buy a herd of Alpacas and have them lick it clean much like they clean themselves. Thought that was common knowledge.
-
Please no Alpaca lined type III. I feel like it would look like a G Star or Diesel jacket

The key to a warm type III is a tight weave material. My 17oz duck type III is way warmer than my 21oz jackets ever were, especially when layered appropriately.
With that said, a 25oz Type III (since you guys have already tested out the vest) with a blanket lining and thinsulate sleeves would be a wonderful update to the SExIH18 and I think would fit the bill in terms of fabrics for a warm but low key and wearable product

I don't suppose the average aircraft carrier in WWII had a speciality dry cleaner on board…

Not really. He did suggest rounded pockets on IH shirts which only he would like

I'm not gonna get into a debate, but plenty of companies make shirts/overshirts with rounded pockets. It's a pretty classic look.
I know IH could make an alpaca lined type III work, and wouldn't release it otherwise…but with Giles/H's hesitance to do another lined denim jacket, I'd hate for it to not sell. But what do I know, I like rounded pockets..
edit: I know it would look better than this, especially with a shorter pile, but this is the nightmare jacket I initially thought of

my point about alpaca lining is that I haven't seen anyone do it in a type 3. every denim company in existence has released a sherpa lined type3, and there's nothing wrong with that I suppose but it's not very exciting to me. A uhf lined type 3, on the other hand, would be cool.
as to rounded pockets, different companies use rounded pockets, like Rogue Territory, and that's their thing. Likewise, UES denim uses a lot of acorn shaped pockets on their shirts (which I actually like). But I honestly can't see IH diverging from their standard pocket pattern designs in order to push something new. I think I even recommended IH try the acorn pocket design awhile back but then realized this would never happen.

Cotton is not a very good choice for a cold weather jacket's lining, IMHO.
depends on the jacket and its intended purpose imo. if we're talking an N1, or something like it, then I would agree. But if we're talking a type3 that's intended as a Fall/Spring jacket versus an all out winter coat then I think a uhf lining would be more than adequate.

I'm going to continue to insist you guys do a 25 oz 888.
I know nobody here like zipper flys like I do. But I love the zipper on my overalls and logger pants. On my XHS pairs and the new UHR pair I have to undo my belt and buttons just to take a piss. I drink A LOT and I have had several near misses with those Goddamn buttons.
**Also a 25 oz XHS UHF lined modified ** type 3 jacket would be sick. Since Haraki figured out how to make a vest a jacket would be great. Perhaps they would have to not fell the seams under the armpits because it would be way too bulky. Or just line the body with UHF and make the sleeves with the quilt lining.
-
I'm already voting for the cookie monster blue buffalo as the lining. Saying a prayer right now that this happens.

man, @ 25oz that thing would be bullet proof. I think it's a great idea, except make it a modified type 3. Imagine wearing a UHF underneath a UHF lined type3 – I wonder if you'd generate enough static electricity to zap the sh*t out of someone?
