IHJ-143-IND - 12oz Kersey Work Jacket - Indigo/Black
-
Well….the smalls hung around too long. Super stoked on this one, was definitely a hard debate between this one and the khaki for me.
-
This honestly wasn't even on my radar, and then I saw the fade pics after only a week...wow. Resistance is futile!! Snagged the last one in my size from Iron Heart UK; was sold out everywhere else.
-
@Graham y’all are the best.
-
I missed out on this but can still snag one at a retailer. Anyone who has had this/tried it on, how is it for fit compared to a UHF or type 3? I like mine fitted but comfortable. Taken same size? Thanks guys
-
I haven't received mine yet. I should have it by Wednesday. I did go with my UHF and type iii size. Hopefully I made the right choice
-
@Gavin666 I got a size down from my uhf, should be here in a few days and I’ll report back. I did want a slimmer fit and the shoulders looked a little big on the medium.
-
We've got one XXXL hanging around the shop if anyone is still on the hunt.

Worn for 7 days, crazy how quickly this one is evolving
Quick question for you Adam. You mention in this photo that you wore the jacket for 7 days; were there any washes or soaks during that time period? Mine just arrived, and I was thinking there is no way I'll be able to get mine looking anywhere close to as good / faded as yours looks!!
One other point: the gussets in the shoulders are absolute game changers. I was admittedly unsure about the jacket once I got it out of the bag as it's a different style for me, but when I put it on...WOW!! It's got to be one of, if not the most comfortable Iron Heart jackets I've worn due in large part to the shoulder gussets. My shoulders are super-happy!!
-
@Nostradamion I agree with the shoulder gussets, it means it is fitted on me but no compromise on movement! I hadn’t soaked it at this point, I have washed it twice now in the first month, once because of a spillage and the other because wearing it over a tee every day it needed a wash! You will be surprised how quickly it evolves and I’m looking forward to following along! Il get another pic of mine tomorrow
-
@AdamC Thanks much Adam; looking forward to seeing more pics of your fade progression. Going to try and wear mine for a week straight as well to see if I can start getting the electric blue creases like yours. BTW, when you washed your jacket, did you hand wash it or did it go in the washing machine?
Another thing I'm digging about this jacket is that although it's a made in a mechanic jacket style, I can see this easily being worn to dinner or any other semi-formal event. It just strikes me as being able to be dressed up or dressed down. For me this is very different, but very cool; glad I took a chance on it.

It was the cuff buttons on this one that kept bringing me back for another look. I repeatedly told myself “you’re an asshole” if I bought a jacket I absolutely do not need because of a couple buttons on a zip up and held off. Not sure if I’m proud of myself or not
-
Here’s a few fit pics of mine. Love it so far but it’s definitely the shortest jacket I own. Perfect summer jacket and I agree with @Nostradamion in that it can be dressed up and it goes well with shorts too.
-
@flannel-slut I used the same logic and was still going to pull the trigger but the lack of the two way zipper was what finally discouraged me.
-
@John-Galt I overlooked the no two way zip… such a little detail but this may actually help keep me away once the remaining stockists release theirs.
-
@flannel-slut I thought that about the 2 way zipper originally but I love the aesthetic with the bottom button done up so realised I wouldn’t be able to use it even if one was there
-
@AdamC I feel like you get some relief unbuttoning the bottom button too if you’re sitting down.
-
On such a short jacket, and the fact that the zipper doesn't go to the bottom of the jacket, I would say a two way zipper isn't really required. My IHJ-61 had a two way zipper and I never used it; that jacket was also about 2-3cm longer than this. I also think the one way zipper on a work jacket like this is more classic (if that matters to anyone else
)

@BalticBob did you end up getting one of these or are you still waiting on the black?
