So I had an unexpected trip to Amarillo and since I had a few minutes to kill before I had to go back to the airport, I decided to stop by Beck Boots.  I spent a few minutes talking with Carlos, one of the bootmakers and managed to remember to snap a couple of quick pics.

First off- the location.  What's more Texan than guns and boots?  One stop shopping for all your footwear and firearm needs…

The folks at Beck are really friendly and it's obvious that they make tough boots for folks that plan to beat on them, not baby them.  I'm already thinking about getting a pair.

Oh shit, I really like the toe cap version…..

The ONLY thing I dislike about mine, is that they used a plastic (or at least some man-made material) between the heel and the sole.

Can you please pop back and ask them to use leather on my next pair.....

I don't think that's a real toe cap; if I remember correctly, that pair has a steel toe and I think that's just the edge of it causing a ridge in the leather.

Their waxed rough out is seriously nice looking, btw.

EDIT: I'll see what I can do.   It's been snowing off and on all day, so if my flight gets delayed, I might go back by to kill some more time…

Among a few others becks is in the running for my next build, a French toe cowboy boot. Was just wondering how you feel about their overall constructional quality Giles. I know real mccoys contracted them to build their Buco engineers and would die for a pair of those in my size but doubt I can talk them into doing that

Very good.  My only gripe is that the top of the heel is a plastic strip.  I am sure that they would change that to leather, I forgot to ask them to do that on my second pair.  I'm sure they do it for a perfectly good reason, but I would prefer leather….

My Beck's order came in. 1 3/4 heel with natural finish. Narrow french toe and saddle anvil leather. 12 inch uppers. love the boots, the leather is a nice heavy weight as well.

Anybody have any recent pics/opinions/experience with this brand?

I recently was turned on to these by @Alex and I am really liking what I am seeing.

Really interested in the lace up model, but would love some more input….
