IH-526J Indigo 21oz Selvedge Denim Type III
-
@f12:
Just recently got the 526j from a member here in medium and while loving it, the only thing is it might be an inch short [emoji31] anyone have any ‘vertical’ stretching on these ?
Stretching of fabric happens when it is put under enough tension. Gravity doesn’t cut it when it comes to 21oz denim so you’d have to create tension yourself (hang weights from the hem/play tug-o-war with it/invest in a medieval torture instrument). All of these options are silly and an inch would be a lot to ask for anyway so I’m afraid you’re screwed.
But you seem unsure, so why not put up a pic and get feedback?

Good man @f12
My honest opinion, I would say it is borderline too small. Your instincts are correct as it is a little short in the body, but you could definitely rock it like that if you feel for it. Type III’s are intended to be short.
There is a thread here called RAWscore (do a search) which is for this very purpose if you post there you should get more feedback.
You have some nice kit there. I like your boots.

It's kind of sad for me to see this jacket in the Extinct section now as it was my very first IH jacket three and a half years ago and for me it was one of the Iron Heart pieces. I had to sell it this year, though, because it became simply too gigantic on me. I hope the 526PJ will bring me as much joy as its predecessor did when I get the chance to snag one in the future.

Haven't worn this anything like as much as my 101J, but it looks good despite that. It doesn't seem to need much effort to get great fades.
-
^ It’s occurred to me that 21oz jackets seem more inclined to fading than 21oz jeans. Less stubborn somehow. Obviously it depends how you use said items but my IH-533 has seen light wear but has developed surprisingly quickly. Yours looks great @wdw
Agreed. I had to make a real effort with the 18oz 101 to make it look so good, but honestly don't feel I've done much at all with the 21oz 526. I'm going to work on this until the new ODs come in this month, assuming their sizing works for me.

Pimping this jacket. Wish me luck!

@Wlemon Cool looking forward to the pics good luck ! where did ya get those groovy patches ?

They are from Standard & Strange. Really cool company. It's called North No Name. They make patches on felt. Cool aesthetics, too. I love these patches as well. I don't know if id rock them but worth starting a collection for even if i didn't sew them on. I heard retailers only get 1 of each patch. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but hopefully soon.

Yep. They only got one of each of these patches and I haven't seen any other North American stockist. I am sure they'd go for a lot on the secondary market. I had to hire a friend to help me since the jacket is so heavy.
