Thanks, Giles. I'm torn between those two. The 634S looks perfect but I'm concerned the flies are a bit short. There are three buttons on my N&F and they just don't go down enough; I end up having to undo the waist too to pee. The four buttons on the 1955S look more like what I'm after, but they might also be a bit high in the waist.

^IH is a whole new ball game in terms of denim and construction. You will have to unbutton your fly, regardless. No worries, though. After you try a pair you'll wonder why you were ever concerned with something so trivial. If you're worried about the high waist, go with the 634s. It's the "classic" for a reason.

I should probably introduce myself since I recently made a couple of comments in some other threads and posted some pics of the first pair of Iron Heart jeans I purchased in early June (the 555-01). My IH collection has grown considerably since then 

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but I currently live in Athens, OH. I was in Los Angeles until about a year and a half ago. I've moved around a lot for graduate school and various teaching positions. I'll be leaving Athens for some form of civilization as soon as I can!

Yup, Athens is home of Ohio U. You definitely picked the better of the two. My undergrad institution was in a town even smaller than Athens, not too far from Columbus (Kenyon College in Gambier).
