Great to finally meet you yesterday Danny. A pleasure to talk denim with you over an espresso. I can't stop thinking about that RJB grey chambray as it happens… who else but RJB would put a houndstooth pattern on the inside of a shirt?!
Bonus to meet Graeme and our lurker friends in Iron Heart ;).

We just got home from a fantastic trip to Japan. Meeting our brands and seeing new collections.
We have brought a small but very special bit of Okayama with us. Our friends at Pure Blue Japan gave us a part of their Toyoda shuttle loom that weaves their incredible denims. It will take pride of place in our London showroom. The Toyoda loom

Last week in Japan I visited The Flat Head show and, as expected, was dazzled by the beauty of their custom made fabrics.
Learning more about the dedication of the workforce which has honed its skills over decades was truly inspiring. They are mainly elderly men and women who have focussed solely on one type of stitch and have done nothing else for the past 30 years. The pride these artisans in Japan feel at having done nothing but stitch pockets for years was refreshing and helped me understand even better why their clothes are so beautifully constructed.
So now I have to put an order in. I'd buy the lot if money were no object. There is a great winter shirt collection and I am pretty much decided on the ones I am going for. I feel like a judge on a talent show narrowing down the options using the photos we took.
This past long and harsh winter was not the one to be without a decent coat but I am sorted for AW13. At the show one of my favourite pieces was a duck down jacket. The white duck down is from the UK. It has red Rayon quilting and is waterproof. It has a The Flat Head label on the left arm. They size in the same way as TFH shirts. So I am ordering a 42 just like my heavy flannels.
I am tempted to buy a few for the store. Although not set it would retail at around £650. I'd be interested in any comments or feedback. They might help me make the decision. It comes in black & navy. If anyone is interested in this jacket please send me a PM or email me.

not sure about the look of the jacket tbh. and i´m not sure if it would sell that good. also i don´t know how fast you need to know about how much you´re going to order.
if it was me though, i wouldn´t take the financial risc of ordering let´s say 5 of these jackets (each ~770€), just to "hope" that someone´s ordering them when you place them in stock. too risky imo!
if i´d order some, then via "special order" only and with a ~40% deposit along with the pre-order!just my 0.02 though!

Thanks, Finn. The same amount could buy a lot of their shirts so most likely to go down that route. Good to get your comments.
