Samurai Jeans

Sorry buddy I have been wearing them to do concrete work and they are trashed. I was gonna try and get you a picture yesterday but they were so dirty and I was exhausted from lifting 80 lb bags of concrete all day…. I had to wash them. I will try and get you pics by tomorrow.
If you have to get your pair from Denimo today the fit is pretty close to Iron Heart 634 XHS sized down one size. they are a relaxed fit jean but will shrink all over by about an inch.

I’ve been pining over some Samurais but I’m unsure of their sizing. Denimio and okayamadenim have vastly different charts and I’m wanting to get as close as possible to my right size. For reference, sir 35 888-uhr fit perfectly.
-
Denimio just copy and pastes the official Samurai fit charts and those are not the most accurate ones. Okayama denim does their own measuring. If you ask Denimio they will also take measurements of an actual pair of jeans for you.
Without knowing what model of Samurai you are interested in, it's difficult to give a clear answer.

I’m looking at the regular straight fit in a heavier oz denim. I’m still pretty new to their fits though.
-
The regular straight fit would be most likely the 510 cut.
It comes from 15oz up to 25oz. As you want a heaver denim I would suggest either the 19oz or 21oz.
But keep in mind the 510 is way less tapered than the 888 -
look at @beautiful_freaks samurai fits and explanations on superfuture superdenim very helpful to me

In that case you could consider the 710 cut, that tapers quite similarly to 888 (but with a more fitted top block, lower rise and less room in the thighs).

The thigh measurements (according to the sizing charts) are far too small for me in the 710.

Have you been able to try a pair on? They are slim but if you’re comparing IHUK measurements to BiG then that may be misleading as they employ different methods.

I have not! BiG is the only American retailer that is allowed to carry them, right?

Have you considered the 510xx in 21oz instead of the 710xx 19oz.
Probably one of my favourite cut and jeans out of about 30+ Japan jeans I have owned.

I definitely have, but the size charts on Denimio and OD are pretty different. I’ll probably just ask them for the largest thigh and smallest waist in a size 35.

I don’t know tbh but if you’re comparing your 888’s measured the IH way to BiG’s 710 measurements then it won’t be an accurate comparison.

That’s probably where I’m going wrong. I’m looking for that ~13.5” post-soak thigh measurements.

That's pretty extreme on a 34-35 waist. I like full cuts and the only pants I have experienced that are in this range are the Roy Peanuts & Memorial and the Tender 132. The SDA 101 is close too, but with a much lower front raise. There are more choices if willing to go down to 13" thighs…
WRT Samurai, the S3000VX is the one I'm looking at right now...
