nah they always been odd, just you had a point of reference that made the collections accessible for you. not to get too high brow
I disagree. The naval influenced collection was not odd. This newer shit is as ODD as it comes. Detachable collars?!?!?! GTFOH

I have a few pieces myself. Don't think I can rock the complete MF look. Checked the MF thread on Sufu, there is a person ("this Sunday" I believe) who can wear the whole MF ensemble. It is something different and perhaps that is what makes MF unique.

I have met the man and although he is very nice, I do not agree with the above statement. I think the one person who I have seen wear multiple pieces and pull them off is Zissou. Other than that, complete Cosplay.

a naval collection is odd. it is just easy to digest & see yourself wearing the clothing because so many collections have naval or biker influences.
the newer items are more left of center from my point of reference, but not that far from what he does. he takes an influence & really dives into it

Found this and thought it may interest those who are lucky enough to OWN one of these beautiful jackets. The passion and the time that goes into the production of an item like this makes you realise why it costs what it does. I'm starting saving…
Hi,
Does anyone know what wax is being used here in this process please?
And, yes Giles - I am considering doing something foolish….

^I think he might have missed a spot, but seriously is there any advantage in applying wax to the same area over and over again or are you fine with applying just one coating of wax?

imo i'd say that applying 2 or more coatings of wax is the better solution since the first coating is just getting soaked up like it was nothing (same with leather treatment on your dry leather stuff!). and maybe he`s missed some small spots after the first coating.
so when applying the 2nd or the 3rd coating of wax you really make sure that every spot of the jacket is coated and wind- and waterproof in the end…that would be my opinion

lack of photos so to remedy that. . .

this is the Mister freedom piece that put them on the radar for me. i know slow to the party, but it's just a dope piece. don't wear it enough but you know
think i'm going to get some of that Fjall Raven wax to say i did it:

Ah, I thought it was the IH Deck Jacket when I saw your WAYWT, but then I didn't recall you posting your interest in that item. Looks great. And the cuff on your jeans has finally swayed me to take all my pants to a tailor to get hemmed.
having the same thoughts right there mate…
-
the cuff. . . just so you know & to get way off track, i wear my devil's single cuffed, double standard injun cuffed, beatle stacked, just-rolled-out-of-bed-have-to-help-my-wife-get-some-stuff-up-the-stairs-mess-don't-take-a-picture-of me
the secret is some times i wear them like a tax paying citizen on my waist & all that & other times i wear them like well you know. they are hemmed to i think a 32 & just a versatile jean. i do love the devil so much i have a pair of those 25s sitting waiting for me
now back to mister freedom. my deck jacket is from the second run & i like the lining on this one better than the initial run. the buckles are painted flat black & are chipping to show some nice patina/wear
if i could change one thing about it i would put the neck of the Iron Heart IHM-01Whipcord Deck Jacket on this cause the mf version just kind of flaps around & really doesn't provide any neck protection
