@Tago-Mago, haha! Thanks, man! Caught them live last September on the last show of the M72 tour. Great concert! The Damage Inc T-shirt I'm wearing there has always been my favourite bit of Pushed artwork done for Metallica...also one of the best Metallica songs!

Welcome @nephellim and @m4xime !
-
@nephellim Welcome aboard!
@m4xime Seen you around here already. Looks like you went to the new R&H shop? -
@Twistlock, thanks, man! Great to be here!
-
@Mister_Brue, thanks, man!
-
@Mister_Brue Thank you and yes, what a shop! Funnily enough I went to the little Christmas event Danny organised in like 2012 before they had an actual shop, so pleased with their success

@m4xime Nice. I’ve not been able to get there yet, but soon.

Hey all, new to the forum. I’m in NYC.
I’ve been into well-made clothes for a while, but heritage/raw denim’s never really been my thing. Decided to buy a pair of 3sixteen jeans a few years ago, and liked them well enough. Eventually they were huge on me, but I wore them for a couple years nonetheless before finally retiring them 2 weeks ago.
For a replacement I picked up a pair of 21 oz 634’s at Self Edge and immediately fell in love. I’d been vaguely aware of Iron Heart before — mainly had been eyeing some of the leather jackets, and knew about their reputation for quality in general. But did not expect to be bowled over like this; I guess after trying my first pair of 3s jeans, and thinking they were just fine, I figured people were being a little hyperbolic when they described how incredible IH is. Anyhow, I’ve spent the last week doing a deep dive on the website, reading about the history of the brand, reading posts here, etc. and I’ve caught the bug hard. The whole thing just clicked with me.

@selbstzweck Welcome! Hope you stick around.

@selbstzweck I remember feeling this way too and I’m jealous. It so much fun going down these kinds of rabbit holes.
-
@selbstzweck welcome! It’s a familiar story — I think a lot of us got sort of interested in selvedge stuff via companies like 3s, APC, I+W, etc, then comes the inevitable stumbling upon IH and addiction follows shortly thereafter
It’s a lot of fun. Come for the jeans, stay for the people. Then more jeans. And like 5 CPOs. Glad you’re here — we need fresh minds to enable!

@selbstzweck Welcome! We’re happy you’re here, regardless of how you got here.

100%
It’s nice to see it happen to someone else and watch with a smile.

Thanks all! Glad I'm not alone in IH-obsession madness, lol

Hi folks, thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm a dad of one and expecting a second later this year. I live in California and was introduced to Iron Heart via Self Edge in San Francisco some years ago. Before then I had shied away from the kind of price points one finds in those stores but went in on a whim, looking to see what a nicer pair of jeans felt like. I think I walked out that day with jeans, two UHFs, and a crazy new curiosity for well made clothes. Who would have thought that a Japanese brand would be the one to make sleeves that fit my longer arms?
I have my PhD in philosophy and I remember early on talking to one of my mentors and telling them how proud I was of my new Dr Martens and how they meant I didn't need to worry about buying or shopping for new shoes for quite a long time (they ended up lasting me 12 years of near daily use). The professor, who dressed well in his own right, smiled and replied that I was right as long as I didn't care about fashion trends.
Sitting here, getting ready to watch the S/S '25 reveal I'm not sure if I care about fashion trends or not. Likely not. It's almost like the feat of creating well made clothes is something worth coming together and celebrating. Not because it's trend setting but because... HAVE YOU SEEN THAT STITCHING? I could ramble forever but I won't. Happy to be here and nice to see everyone's introductions!
