IH-555S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Jeans - Indigo PREVIOUSLY IH-555-01

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well and staying safe. I have a question regarding my 555-01s and thought this would be the place to tap into the best knowledge and experience. I’ve lost 20kg/3 stone over the past year and as a result my jeans are not quite fitting me as they used to. Short of putting all the weight back on, does anyone have any suggestions about maybe getting the jeans to shrink down a little? I assume they wouldn’t shrink down beyond their original measurements even with a hot machine wash? I know I might not have much of a chance, but thought it best to check with iron heart scholars first rather than just going for it. Thank you in advance
One option is to sell them online. Ive got a few pairs of 555-01 jeans and even though my weight’s fairly stable I think I’ll go from a waist size of 31 to 32. I’ve got the 32 tag size in the 25oz version and although the 31 tag size fits my waist fine and they’re not uncomfortable I prefer the slightly looser fit of the 32 in the knees and thighs especially if I’m out walking.

Hi there,
I already have the 555-01 in 36 and 38 and are just between both sizes, currently 38 seems to fit better ;D.
Given hot temperatures, I consider buying a 555 in the 14 oz denim.
Could anyone give me suggestion with regards to size/stretch? I assume the 14 oz denim does neitzer shrink nor stretch as strong as the 21 oz does? Should I go for the 38 or the 36?
Many thanks

Start of day 12. I can't believe how comfortable they have gotten in less than 2 weeks! Very much loving the way they fit - definitely an "all day, everyday" pair of jeans.

@bobbychacha great fit. Looks like you’ve negotiated the 21oz stretch very well. Now comes the best bit. Seeing where they go the next two or three years. This denim just gets better and better.

@neph93 Thanks! Yeah, it seems like these landed right in the sweet spot - not too tight, not too loose. This is exactly the fit I was hoping for.

These are an iconic cut and an iconic denim, so no surprises that they sold so quickly.
My only gripe with the IH-555-01 is the lack of arcuate stitching (which I think is another iconic aspect of Iron Heart jeans, so it's stopped me buying these in the past). Clearly it doesn't stop them selling like hot cakes but I just wondered why they don't have the same arcuate as other IH jeans?

Do the knees stretch out on these as they are very tight?

They have the same arctuates but they are tonal. The genius is that because they are stitched with polycotton the arctuates don’t fade but the denim does. This means the arcs become visible with wear and washing. It has been done on a number of IH models and looks like this:

All 100% cotton twill denim will stretch when put under pressure. In the case of the knees it depends on the intersection of your body shape and the cut of the jeans. You can count on some stretch occuring but how much will vary from person to person.

555-01 are my favourite arcs, nice & subtle when new and a bit less subtle as the indigo starts to fade.
