Indy Kudu with kevlar laces have been tough enough for the streets of NYC.

What is considered an "exotic" color? And your feet aren't that big, are they? I was thinking you're about an 11 or 12; not something ridiculous, like that yeti seanocono, with his size 15.5 meat slabs.

Whiskey or ravello shell (or number 4 if you really wanna get crazy) I'm a 10/10.5 depending on the last… they just don't make a lot of em, in any size!
Trying to get some whiskey cord dress shoes but the only thing I found was a 100% deposit 6 month wait scenario. And something about a 100% deposit bothers me, its like the automatic 20% tip at a restaurant.

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that the lighter shades, like whiskey and ravello, are really rare because every little imperfection and variation in the hide will show. Darker colors conceal minor flaws better, so you see black and dark browns (and Number 8, which I suppose isn't really brown) far more regularly.
I thought I saw an attempt over on StyleForum to get a Tricker's group buy going for boots made out of a navy cordovan that almost looked purple in certain light. IIRC, they were supposed to have red lining leather and a red Dainite sole, which would have made an amazing looking boot. Navy is definitely what I'd call exotic.

Don't be dismayed however with the Color 8 option. Personally, it's my preferred shell color when compared to Ravello and Cigar. It will take on this beautiful patina after a year of wearing depending on the owner's use. I've traded some of my ravello/cigar boots for the Color 8.
Don't even get me started about Black shell. It is very underrated and doesn't get the spotlight it deserves. Maybe folks prefer to keep it this way
