Watches - another OCD problem
-
Just to be a dick they ought to put it inverted over between 9 and 10
-
My brothers gf just bought him this
-
With all due respect to your brother's girlfriend…
That's quite an expensive gift. I hope your brother is very appreciative.

That's subtle enough for Ludacris

Breitling Bentley is fucking serious. A bit ostentatious for me but, it is a beautiful piece
-
It also features a date window that Snowy and chris can get excited about
-
I think it's simply to be a bit different from the standard "date at 3" watch face. The cynic in me would point out that it still uses the standard date wheel out of the parts catalog, which makes it a cheap way to diverge from the norm.
Personally, I think the best placement for the date window is at either 6 or 12. It makes for a more balanced dial.

PAM 380

Unrelated, but all silver datejusts are my favorite looking watch at this point in time.

Mechanically pretty damn cool

more images please chiba. with a watch like that i can see why it would be your one & only. 1968 . . . the brand was still very young as i'm pretty sure they started in the early to mid 60s. if you wouldn't mind please share the backstory of how you came to own that beauty.
thanks

Thanks Monday. Appreciate the nice comments, but it's really not a particularly special watch (at least not as a collectible, to me it's special). Seiko is a pretty old company and the first Seiko watches were produced in the early 20s. These 5 series watches can be had pretty readily and for not too much dough.
I picked mine up at a used and vintage watch shop in the Ameyoko area of Tokyo for around $150. The shop has a very large stock, but this one stood out to me as more classy and rugged than the others. Works very well. And I think it looks sharp with the Nato strap from Taikonaut (great straps FWIW).

i wouldn't know an items "value" as i am far from a watch dude. i like seiko 5 cause they seem to do something well without pricing me out. i always thought the 5 series started in the 60s, but i'll go double check in a few. great find, more images please.
from your image i'm really into the bezel, nothing so fancy but it works for me.
thanks for sharing
