Wow. Was wondering when you were going to post pics of that one @babyknight Looks absolutely beautiful and I love the panda dial.

That's a nice watch @babyknight.
For Seiko fans, Hodinkee have a piece up about the manufacture. If you want to see how the Japanese build movements…

They've also got an announcement about the IWC Connect, that adds smartwatch functionality to mechanical timepieces.
And, from a couple of weeks back, a tour of the Tudor archives.

Cheers for the Hodinkee Tudor feature Graeme. I'll give that a proper view when I'm not supposed to be working!

From Hodinkee:
Drool!

I don't understand the sundial on the right- is there a reason the numbers don't add up properly?
-
Gonna guess that the left sub is the true seconds and that the right is a 30 min chronograph.

Enjoy ya addiction!

Yeah, you're right, I expect it's a 45 minute chrono. Must've had a brain fart when I thought it was supposed to be an hour. But why is the 5-10 portion in orange? Just decorative, or is there a practical purpose?

Doh! Missed that. Dunno about the orange slice but I like it

Is someone into Omega Speedmasters? I start to like em and I could need a "new" watch sometime in 2015…
-
A dream deferred… they made a prototype with the "Homeplate" face and a rotating bezel but it never went to market and instead had a fixed tachymeter ring (my preference on the watch).

My guess on the 45 minute timer is that people were doing a lot of drugs back then.
-
^^This is true. Other watches catch my eye, but I always come back to the Speedmaster Professional as the "I'm going to sell all my other watches and buy just one to wear forever" watch. It's an undeniable classic.
-
Yes, the Speedy Pro is just a superb watch. It was my gateway drug. It's a classic design and works as well as any watch ever could as the one watch to own if you could own no other.
-
If you do get a Speedy, never sell it. I had a "Moon to Mars" and regret selling it the hour after I shipped it. The Snoopy Speedy is calling, but since we just booked an Alaskan cruise for next summer, it ain't happening.
