Watches - another OCD problem

Wow. Blancpains are the price of a new family car. What an investment piece.
-
so after thinking about it since a little bit over 2 years now and since it was my birthday 2days ago, i went and put my name on the waitinglist for a rolex sea dweller!
*finally going for one!
Well done. Look forward to seeing it. I know you were considered in what you picked - enjoy!

I spotted a Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds today. They apparently sold out pretty quickly after Baselworld last year, but this was a cancelled order.
I'm tempted.

An article about the Tornek-Rayville, which was a rebadged and re-engineered Fifty Fathoms.

Not many survive, because they were a little bit radioactive!

That watch is lovely, but if find it almost illegible. Had to look twice to see the hands. Oddly enough, this is also my problem with many g-shocks. I don’t get how all up and down the scale there are pieces whose primary function doesn’t work that well.
Obviously this is a pet peeve of mine that ti get too worked up about.

I wasn't paying much attention to the Noctambule's legibility, but it's not as bad as some skeletonised watches that I've seen. The hands are polished steel, whilst the background is darker.
Whilst it is a lovely watch, you could buy an awful lot of G-Shocks for the same price!

No sir I haven’t . Got me intrigued .

Time and Tide have an office that is just around the corner from where I live, and last night they had an event to celebrate the launch of the Longines Legend Diver. So I went along.
The case is PVD steel and it comes on a rubber strap. Time and Tide (who're selling it) had it on one of their black NATOs, which was a good pairing. I think that the movement is a tweaked ETA.
It's a good looking watch. For people who read Hodinkee (and @Anesthetist ), there's a 36 mm version, but it's not available in black.
A few people had nice watches with them. Someone had an early 2000s Rolex GMT on a Jubilee bracelet.
A Glashutte with a spectacular green dial.
And one guy had a watch roll full of vintage pieces he'd sourced in Cuba.
Including this lovely Jaeger chronograph.

Man, l love that green dialed Glashutte.
-
36mm would interest me indeed!

Those are the Four Seasons special ed GS: https://timelessluxwatches.com/reviews/new-grand-seiko-four-seasons-models/
This is the lovely Winter model:
Those are my favorite of the 4, but the other two are not bad either…

Hodinkee have a write up on the Blancpain Barakuda.

There are comments about it being sold out, but I heard the same thing about the Bathyscaphe Seventies, and there's one of those in a local jeweler's.
