Don't Mourn, Organize! Leather Goods by Scott Willis
-
I'm sorry to hear that people are having trouble reaching Scott. That wasn't my experience at all.
Here is my 1.7" Natural American Harness Belt. Brushed heavy-duty buckle. 7 circular holes, 3/4" apart – due to my tendency to fluctuate in weight. I actually stole that idea from the Saddleback Old Bull belt.
Apologies for the low quality iPhone pics. It's the best I have, at the moment.

That thing is pretty gosh dang cool man!
-
Great news sir! Glad it worked out for you. Was actually wearing my 62 today
-
Okay, I need Sean's belt, albeit longer, and with a brass buckle. *beltswoon
-
Should have these within a week. Can't wait.

I love it here in Utah. Oh, wait I may have just confirmed your statement. Scott is a school teacher in addition to his leather work. For a little perspective.
-
I do admit that Southern Utah is really beautiful. Salt Lake and Provo are not my cup of tea, but to each their own.
And to keep it relatively on topic, I have had nothing but a great experience with Scott and his products. I plan on making additional purchases in the very near future.

I messaged Scott early this morning. The last time I have heard from him was December 11. He told me he would send me pics when my wallet and reign were ready. He had originally quoted me 3 weeks for it to be completed.
That being said, I am very dissappointed in his customer service skills. 2 months later I have not heard one word. Not even just to let me know things got backed up or anything. At this point, I'm not even sure if I want the thing anymore.
F it. I picked up a nice redmoon while I was waiting anyways
RANT OFF
Sorry, just find it strange how punctual this guy was with returning emails and then…... crickets chirping* NOTHING*** -
^Yeah, that is really frustrating/annoying/confusing. It's especially strange that there is such a wide range of satisfaction with his service. I had a great experience, but I only ordered a belt. Understandably, wallets take longer to make; but a 30 second email response seems like the minimum, necessary courtesy.
-
he wrote me back last night with a very brief messaged that said sorry it has taken so long. sent a few pics of the project in progress. Looks good, but noticed he has replaced the silver indian head concho we agreed upon with, what appears to be, a stainless steel button…. not real thrilled about that and have messaged to inform him this was not the agreed to specifications. :-\
-
nah, bro. nothing wrong with my email. that is the first time he has responded, thus the apology and the incomplete project, as he stated he has not burnished edges or made the reign yet…. 2 months later mikeC
and as i've stated the two months is not the issue, it would have just been the respectful thing to do to drop a quick email and say, "hey running behind schedule but I have not forgot you."
But what do I know anyway?
-
fuck it, take your business elsewhere, especially if you are not getting what you originally agreed upon. Clearly something is amiss with the project.
-
I hate to say it, but I agree with SG. I had a great experience with Scott, but you should absolutely get what you agreed upon; especially, after the amount of time you waited. I hope he replies to your email, soon, with good news. Otherwise, I would pursue other avenues. Damn shame.
-
thanks guys, SG got me thinking and I got ahold of Scott last night… told him from what I have seen of his work it looks top quality; however, with the way this has been handled I don't feel comfortable with proceeding. He said sent me back another brief message saying he understands and sorry for the hassle. All in all, maybe I'm just a fluke accident one of the people that fell through the cracks. I have heard a lot of positive stuff about Scott. I hold no ill will, I cannot imagine him gaining a fairly good reputation if this was occurring on a regular basis. Everyone is human and things happen, but it is time for me to move on.
