Iron Heart IH-634S - World Tour 2010 - 2013

Among the most noteworthy occasions the jeans got to see while they were here in Berlin, was the annual vintage car show on the Kurfürstendamm, the famous boulevard in the western part of the city.
Here's a few impressions, without the jeans in picture alas.Perhaps the car aficionados among you will enjoy this, I know zilch about cars, hence no further comment…

Perhaps less known than our "Kudamm", at least to those of you who have never been to Berlin, is the Tempelhofer Freiheit, for me, a major (since truly unique) attraction.
The disused former Tempelhof Airport, very centrally located, has been made accessible to the public, for general recreation, sports (sometimes with a deceivingly American look), art, urban gardening (not shown) and practically every outdoor activity conceivable. Here are a few impressions
And for once, a quick one of me in the tour jeans, which experienced a little new damage with almost every day I wore them.

Towards the end of my leg, I took the jeans to our probably most prominent Landmark, the Brandenburg Gate
Some eyecatchers on the way…
…to the Holocaust Memorial, or Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, as it's officially called.
It's a vast field of stelae, a design by Peter Eisenman (the result of many years of controversial discussion and a competition).I was very much in mind of Levi Strauss, the German jew from Bavaria to whom we all owe jeans. I like to think Levi would have approved of showing the tour jeans here, though they were not his brand, but rather one that took the concept several steps further.
To close, the traditional view of the Brandenburg Gate

And thus this brief summary of the Berlin leg of the world tour more than two years ago comes to a close.
Thanks for bearing with me.
The aired jeans folded ready to vanish in their envelope,
….headed to
where their stay was so splendidly covered by @Snowy.
Posting this brings back many memories. I grew very fond of the jeans and found it really hard to let them go. Thanks for entrusting them to me way back then. I believe they are archived now in Gosport, and if all goes really well and I can one day really visit, I'd so love to see them again.

I have to go to Berlin.

@Oleg Well yes, sure, the product of the whole tour back from 2011. It put me in a much appreciated connection with all the guys who wore them before me, some "big forum names" among them whom I'll likely never meet in person.
@steelworker When you do, drop me a note and bring your most fekked jeans, and we'll have a drink together, okay?

Yeah, Snowy, I know…..it never got forgotten, honest! As I wrote you way back then, I'm technically not really state of the art. Hope you liked my "express coverage" (about as delayed as our German Railways often are) though of course it can't compete with yours.
