Schmidt Shirt
-
Woe is me, just contacted Herr Schmidt about a herringbone Western and the fabric is no more (well, enough left for him to make himself a shirt ). Though he said given sufficient interest he could try to get some more. nudge nudge (Hint: his email is on his Web site mentioned in this thread's original post).
More fabric is a possibility. What would you get? A one pocket worker style, or something different? That's the other cool aspect of a Schmidt shirt. You can get whatever you want. One pocket or two, or button down or snaps etc….. Yokes. Different colored stitching. High quality buttons etc....
I personally really dig what Jan came up with on my shirt. Two non-flap pockets with perpendicular striped placement.
So what buttons should I use?? I'm thinking the hour glass MOPs look really cool!! Not sure if I like the metal jacket style buttons.
This fabric in raw form is quite stiff. Possibly due to the extra stitching. From pure feel alone, I would have guessed the fabric to be closer to 12oz selvedge. I just hope I can justify wearing it enough to get some blue/brown evolve. Going to be hard since I'll soon have a closet full of Schmidt shirts to choose from.
And yes, Jan can hide the label on the inside hem or underneath the flap of the pocket if you don't like it.

Agreed on the hourglass buttons, they are dope.
I wanted a Western, possibly with two pockets. Torn there because of the uniqueness of the single pocket though.
I like the label and think he deserves representation, so torn there as well.

Got word from Jan this morning that my new shirt will be arriving in the next few days. He was kind enough to photograph it for me before posting.
Exciting times, the picture of the shirt looks good and I have enjoyed working with Jan on getting the spec for the shirt organised.
Will post some more pictures once it has arrived.

made myself a new denim shirt:
same style like ddtrash's chambray, but without the vertical stitchings.
