I live walking distance from RRL, I wear the jeans I got from them all the time. There's a guy who carries
the Kapital line in Venice, CA., opened about 2-3 months ago. He told me he was going to carry the whole
line so I'm pretty stoked by that, might finally get a pair of their boots I've been wanting for years.
Only issue I have with RRL is that their prices are sky high for stuff that's made in China, great designs
though. -
I love the RRL low straight cut. Probably one of the best cuts for me ATM. & Yea they are def priced through the roof (RRL) They do have great sales online that enable u to grab some stuff a few times a year. U are def lucky being so close to both now. Id be there in a flash lookin for a part time job lol

Would be cool to have you working down the street Sal! I have those jeans, 15.5 oz. Japanese denim
made in the USA. I wear them all the time, great cut and a good weight.
I'm looking forward to seeing what this guy gets in his shop from Kapital's fall/winter line, I'm sure it will be
what's on Kapital's online shop plus a few more goodies… I'll keep you posted. -
Here's a pretty cool interview with KIRO AND TOSHIKIYO. Cool to see how father and son differ a bit in what they want and like for denim washes. Old school vs new school
-
Kapital Century jeans. Pretty interesting denim

I kind of like the weave, though I am not sure if it's really a serge de nimes, a "denim". I guess it could be with just super irregular warps. Someone with more expertise than I would have to clear that one up.
-
I think he's wetting himself. That's how I look when I'm emptying a full bladder.
-
They are not pre distressed. They look like this new. Brown and grey
-
Yeah, seeing that close up I think it's a gray warp denim periodically interrupted by a large indigo weft that goes under a few warp threads and over a bunch more at a time. I've admired em for a while, they ain't cheap though.
-
Go here u can see a few more fits of this denim

I love the brown more than the grey. They are a work of art for sure
I believe they are $250 on the Kapital site i think ¥21,840 equals $250 usd
-
Oh wow that's not bad, I though they were pushing a half a G
-
Go here http://www.kapital.jp/e-store/index.php
I was surprised at their price. If u look on Unionmade they have their stuff for much more. I think they are around $100 to $150 more
-
I like their Century denim, I've seen it in person, it's pretty heavy weight and very well made. Jeans were
$260.00 I think, not too bad at all. -
Yeah $260 is as good as it gets BH. Def gonna pick up a pair soon.
-
They're on my list too Sal, going to try and pick them up before the end of the month.

Sal I have the 7-S stone sumi slim cut low rise (see 1st page of the thread), have a look at the cisco cuts in 5-S or 7-S as the rise is pretty low on the stone and not sure if you like that. Further you have the Button fly on the cisco compared to zipper in stone. There is a third tapered cut but cant remember its name.
awesome unique pants, i get asked a lot about them, I gave em to a girlfriend for wearing them a bit, she loved it too.
I wouldnt call them heavyweight at that oz, more stiff until the sashiko soften and settled like in the pics Sal posted.
And then there is the whole thing with coating it (kakishibu). Bandanna Almanac is the expert when you want to know more about it or to read it in his blog or on the century denim page
