Unpopular opinions

I know smoking is bad for you, I know that it kills you, but it makes you look cool and tough…. See Steve McQueen.
I hate to admit this BUT…..Every time I watch a Steve McQueen movie or documentary it makes me want to take up smoking again... So apparently I'm an idiot or still a teenager at heart, so what. Looking cool IS cool! However, the will to not die of lung cancer like much of my family keeps my desires at bay.

Pics of McQueen and Newman in 101-Js prompted my latest thrift store purchase. A little healthier inspiration

Uh oh!!!! But…. I pretty much agree. Just sayin.

Just noticed this thread - what a fucking can of worms!
Anyway, here's mine: I'm totally bored with the 1940s/50s fashion revival. It's fucking rampant where I live and everyone seems to act like its the greatest. I think it's every bit as pretentious as the teenage goths who think they're onto something special.
-
No shit from me Nate, I don't agree obviously but that is exactly what this thread is for so I applaud your post.
Got an unpopular opinion, this is the place for it
I have a million unpopular opinions on some very popular brands and their wares (definitely not Iron Heart), but that is touching on personal criticism, and I really like some of the people involved with those brands, so I will hold my tongue

Ok, just one.
Whenever I see a kid wearing a Supreme Box Logo item of clothing with that smug sneer they develop I just want to punch them.
Supreme is dead, and has been since the trust fund kids, and wanna be London aristocrats "discovered" it. I can think of nothing more against the original ethos of the brand than some rich teenager wandering into his expensive private school wearing a Supreme tee to show what a fucking rebel he is. Newsflash idiot, Public Enemy hate you, so does Malcolm McClaren, so does Larry Clark, but now they started printing Lady Gaga tee's you're golden.

Unless it is an old classic that has dulled in with age, I feckin hate matt painted cars….Über cool? No, Über shite.....
I saw a matte black Mucielago downtown the other day and it looked like the Batmobile. I liked it.
Then I saw a white Skyline GTR. Good car day…
Got no use for cats.

not sure where this falls, but I think those that just shrug off manufacturing and construction defects in their high priced items, and try to say that its hand made character need a head check. Im specifically talking about all the fucked stitching I have seen coming out of White's lately. They are clearly riding the work boot/made in america thing, which is great, but once quality starts to suffer its a steep slope to fall down. I know that uneven stitching doesnt necessarily take away from durability, but by accepting this kind of thing, we are basically saying go ahead, work faster and pay less attention to the details that made you what you are today.

Mega, this is an effing great notion for a thread, and ostensibly perfect for me since I feel almost all my opinions are likely unpopular… but therein lies the bleedin' rub - if I start to contribute it'd soon end up as suffocating for y'all as it is for me scrolling thru' Seul's pictures of himself wearing the the same clothes as he did yesterday, but guess what? It's today!
Also, I think you've slightly tainted the integrity of the concept by proscribing certain areas/topics!
What's more... some folks just aren't getting it by AGREEING with supposedly unpopular opinion! Let people feel unpopular people! Don't take those dreams away, no matter how delusional!
Bah. (maybe see ya at the Navigation - say no!)
Just kidding Seul, sorta... x

7 pages in 3 days tells me that unpopular opinions are more popular than I suspected. I expected maybe 4 or 5 members (me included) to occasionally post a douchey comment in here, but this? Damn !

Costanza, restrictions had to be applied, I have millions of extremely unpopular opinions on politics and religion but you have to remember where you are, and this isn't the place for them.
If you ever want to argue stuff like that, find me on Facebook, or buy me a beer in Nottingham.
