Memorable concerts

Riff, nothing but love for Duff. He always seemed the most genuine of them, although Slash did sign me a napkin with the words…
" To Gav, Drink till you die, Slash"
Nice of him
-
Hopefully it's really wu tang. They have a habit of one or two real dudes ahowing up and and an entourage, not meth and Rza and everyone. If its with common and shit its probably a good chance.
Waited 6 hours for Wu-Tang at SxSW a few years back. No chance I was going to miss it.
Ended up being a massive disappointment, even with Ghost Face and Raekwon. The sound was terrible (though it was good to great for the other bands, including Fishbone) and they had zero energy. At least half the crowd bailed before the show ended.

one of my real good friends is actually Slash's guitar tech and he's 100% an awesome dude too. I was just seriously taken aback by somebody like Duff knowing who my band was and actually being so outgoing about it.

Every concert I've been too is memorable in some way (good or bad). Since I'm a jobless hobo I had the time to take photos of all the ticket stubs I could find. There are other concerts, but I'll be damned if I can remember them right now. Picture overload incoming (will probably add stories later on).
I fucking love music.

Wu tang clan ain't nuttin ta fuck with
I saw Wu Tang in '93 before 36 Chambers was released. They were so good.
"Obstacles are stepping-stones That guide us to our goals"
-
That must've been RAW.
-
Excellent taste Jestre

Ah Cornelius! Great live show Jester. Saw 'em back in the day.
And your Kings of Leon ticket stub reminded me of when they were a damn fine band. Couldn't believe my ears when they went stadium rock/pop!!
-
Awesome Jestre! I need to post mine too if I can remember where they are!
And yes, Duff is a great guy…Nothing but love for him. Steve Harris too.

You guys are pretty well known though Nate, I knew who you guys are before I signed up here….just didn't wanna come across as all "hey you're that dude from Converge", as I'm clearly far too cool for that
-
Everyone is too cool to care who I am!
In all seriousness though there are worlds of difference between the small amount of popularity my band had been lucky enough to receive and what somebody like Duff has lived so it just surprised me that somebody like that was even aware of us.
-
Yeh, I get that. Like you say I think it really helps that Duff clearly fucking loves music, as does Slash.
A friend of mine (massive Kiss fan) told me that Slash once tried out to be the guitar player in Kiss but was rejected for being too young. Anyone know if that was true?
-
I think he was rejected because he was too good
-
today's mission….ask my buddy and find out for you mega

Great list Red, I saw Iron Maiden open for UFO on the Killers tour with Paul Di'Anno and every time they played
here after that until Power Slave.
I was lucky enough to meet and chat with Clive Burr on the Killers tour, I was very saddened by his passing.nice Blackheart, seeing Maiden with Di'anno and chatting with Burr must have been something special!!!
great memories I've just been drinking Bruce Dickinsons 'Trooper' beer, not to be dismissed as a gimmicOn another note, it looks like the only gig I'll be going to this year is Ozric Tentacles 30th anniversary one, last time I saw them was over 20 years ago
