I'd go for the 1000 Miles. Never liked the moc toe stitching on the Indy.

Which black Indy/which sole?
Calf? Shell? Chromexcel?
Commando? Leather?I have the Indy in a black aniline calf with commando sole and really like them. But they look a little dressy for jeans. I wear them with chinos. They have a little sheen to them.
I think the black chromexcel would be a better choice with denim. With contrast stitching.

@Geo:
Definitely put mcnairys on a par with grenson but with a better style aesthetic
Better quality these days, too. Newer Grensons not made in the UK, friends have had some QC issues unfortunately.
Can't wait for the McNairy "Fuck Off" collection to come out.
Things have changed some (for the better) on the grenson front ever since Tim Little took over a little while ago
A lot more being made in Northamptonshire again - where pretty much every other English shoemaker hails from - and where mcnairy has many of his designs made

SuperBlackLechraun…
Geo: do you have an idea which ones are UK made and which aren't?..
nameness: I e-mailed them when the e-store opened and asked them, and they told me there were gonna be more UK made shoes... Apparently that is already happening. It's weird that they're not stressing that out in the product detail (of course, this means saying your other shoes are made in India, but still).
