I had the tricotine and ended up selling it because the sleeves were so short but I see UES fixed that and they’re longer now. This is tempting for sure. It’s a great overshirt though @Mizmazzle. Super hefty and the blue is gorgeous, similar to IB

I’ve looked at these and they’re super cool — some of the fade pics are kinda nuts. Tempting as hell but I’ll at least postpone to next year so I can give my 295 some overdue attention.
Why aren’t we born with more bodies? I need to find my doppelgänger and get him to split some indigo with me.
-
@Mizmazzle it’s honestly the first non IH shirt I’ve had, I was surprised by how good the construction was, I’ma sucker for triple stitching. It Sorta reminds me of an indigo flannel kinda burlap but not bad way. Different than 295 for sure.
It doesn’t have a much wear as I’d like it to have I just have so many shirts

@kkibbey23 I snagged a size 3 from ISP....Holy hell...been a wild three year ride trying to make this shirt happen.
-
@Mizmazzle heck ya, I plan on it being my winter project with my 25 oz'ers
-
@derek111 I'm psyched man. I like your plan to make it a winter project. My new "problem" is I've made that same plan with my 295ib, my 397 sashiko, and waiting in the wings still unworn my UES Heavy Selvedge Indigo flannel....and now on top of it all this Tricotine. haha
I couldn't let this one pass me by again though. I think I will still be giving my 295 and my 397 top billing...but this Tricotine will get some play too.
-
@Mizmazzle not enough hours in the day my dude. May have to start sleeping in one!
-
@pechelman I will do a 64 : Tricotine comparison for you in a few days once this lands!

Blue Owl Workshop is releasing the Tricotine and the Amundsen Friday at 10 AM PT.

Got mine today and all I can say is "wow". Now I see what all the fuss is about. First impression when I took it out of the box was...damn this is heavy. IIRC it is supposed to be a 15.5oz fabric but I have several flannels in the 12oz-14.5oz range and they are nothing like this. The closest thing I can compare it to would be a cross between an extremely heavy twill and a flannel. It's totally unique so that's really the best I can do. I am 6' 205lbs and the size 5 is perfect for me, not quite as much room as my XXXL IH workshirts but not snug, plenty of room in the chest and body. I'm not a fan of form fitting clothes so take that into consideration. Here are some pics of it on me, for color reference I am wearing IH 17oz 888 in natural indigo with one wash. The fabric pic should give you a better idea of what the fabric is like...the looser weave on the top is a UES Heavy (14.5oz) flannel in indigo. The bottom fabric is the Tricotine, you can see how much tighter the weave is. I do have one small complaint about the shirt but it's a complaint I have about most of the Japanese brands...the sleeves are a tad too tight. I'm not a big man with big arms and these sleeves are definitely some of the slimmer sleeves I have in my closet.

@Mizmazzle The answer is both. I have the Amundsen and want to get the selvedge heavy flannel. It's a disease.

Damn you all. In for one from Iron Shop Provisions

You won't regret it, it's a special piece and ISP is a great store...love those guys.
-
@edgarallanpoe I agree ISP is excellent.
@Buckeye which size did you grab? I was messaging with Josh from ISP last night to see what the stock looked like and he told me he only had 1-2 size 3s in stock. I was at the computer and ready to go when the clock struck 9....after I got a size 3 that size was sold out....i'm curious if there was only one in that size after all... -
@Mizmazzle hey! I’m an XXL in IH, and went with a size 5 given the advice above regarding shrinkage!
-
@Mizmazzle yea!!!! Finally.
