Let It Snow!!!! Winter Sports Thread

It's a way of life in the east
-
Better than nothing, or even than how flat it is here. We get the most amazing powder you can't do shit with.
-
Are there any snow sports recommendations where you aren't freezing your nuts off?

hahahahaha, all i have is an atari 2600, don't think any winter sports were on the consoles back then
i do admire you snow bunnies for going out on those little toothpicks down a snowy mountain fast as hell. i don't want to go out like sunny. y'all got some balls as any thing i do not have control over scares the sh!t out of me . . . yes, i'm scared of a bunch of stuff.

It gets icy out west. It's called boilerplate. That's a west term that you don't here in the east.
We are talking about different kinds of conditions. I have been everywhere between Hood & Whiteface. Including some of my faves A Basin, squaw, black comb and mad river. We are talking different animals here.

this thread needs pictures of yous in action.

Next few weeks will get Urb over here and have him shoot me in a jib session.
-
what is this "jib" & is it something you can put on a public forum
-
I detest skiing on ice
iirc i loved it back then…gonna report back as soon as i've tried it
-
I can definitely relate to the east coast cold and ice. Grew up snowboarding most nights at blue mountain in Ontario, riding boilerplate ice, makes your riding skills much stronger for sure, and night skiing is such a pleasure after a long day. Where is your home mountain d666? Someone requested action photos, so I will comply.

I live 3 min from Mountain Creek. It's a small mountain with horrible icy terrain. With a great park. It's great for what it is. Get out of work ski for 3 hours come home before jake goes to bed. I have only made up to VT three times so far this season Killington, Okemo and Mad River.
-
I plan on doing Tuckermans this spring
-
I've been to killington in the past, fun mountain with a ton of terrain. Was there in 1996(?) after the massive ice storm and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen with all the trees just caked in ice
-
Tuckermans should be a great time as well. You should post a TR after for sure
-
Aside from east coast elitist assholes (think Taos or Aspen) and insanely crowded weekends. Killington is one of the biggest gems in the east coast big mountain & beautiful terrain
-
Some of the most amazing technical skiing you will ever see.
