I stumbled across this today outside of Pickings and Parry in Melbourne. It's a freshly restored Velocette Thruxton.
I spoke to the owner, and he said that he'd got it as a box of bits. He'd originally wanted to restore is as a production racer replica, and got the parts to do that, but when he checked the chassis number with the owners club, it turned out to be a Thruxton, and worth about twice as much.
It's a lovely looking bike, with a set of very loud pipes on it. I have serious envy…

After doing a lot work on my bike , I’m picking up tomorrow the right mirror and this baby is ready to go, I cleaned the tank, reserve filter, installed back, cleaned the carburator and put a new filter, changed the oil and oil filter, transmission fluid, new handle bars and mirrors, today I buffed the chrome and tank plus cleaned the saddle, heres a few pics, 96 Sporter Harley.

One of the local dealers had the new Shoei Ex Zero in stock when I dropped by yesterday.
It's similar to the Bell Moto, but doesn't come with a visor in the box (as far as I know), and has a drop down visor built into it. The fit feels a bit narrower than the Bullitt across the skull, Shoei helmets tend to fit those of us with oval or long oval heads a bit better.
Most of the options are in plain colours, but it's available in a retro striped design too.
It's a pretty light helmet too.
I like it, though I'm not sure how noisy it is, or how good it'd be for long distance riding. (Austin Vince rides far further than any of us, and wears an open faced helmet, so I'm sure it'll be fine.) That said, I'd swap out the cheek pads for a thicker pair to tailor the fit correctly.

too funny

I think the Bell Moto is designed for wearing Googles, at least that is what I read somewhere @Graeme
That's right.
The Moto3 has a snap on peak (which is what I meant to say the Ex Zero lacks), but doesn't have the option for a face shield.
The Ex Zero has a drop down face shield, but no peak in the box. I suspect that Shoei will sell one as an accessory.

A couple weeks back I spotted some guy riding a moped wearing one of these

Do you have to have a moped? I’d happily wear one to bed…

I actually got into IH because of my love of scooters, I wanted something thick to possibly save my hide

@louisbosco the Daytona 675 always had good reviews, but that might have been due to a parochial British press.
The Suzuki GSX750 might be worth considering too. A lot of people thought that it was the sweet spot between a 600 and 1000.

Love your bike @Kill switch
