Sweet-ass KTM, 7t! The LC8 engine is hard to beat! And I'm with you - I love my 2006 950 Adventure (code name Big Mama) more than any other bike I've owned! Well, maybe not as much as Black Betty…
Speaking of Betty, I got a good soaking today and thought of Nate and his potential upcoming springer front end purchase... This old trick works pretty well when its raining and you're not running a front fender!

Love your site, sending the Panerai straps to a buddy

Great looking bikes. I have a soft spot for old Bimmer bikes.

Guess who broke the drive belt on their Harley Davidson this evening? Good thing it happened in my neighborhood! Got down on it hard and felt something hit me in the back, then it revved out like I had missed a gear. Hit the throttle again and it felt funny… I thought I had over-revved it and f'ed it up, but then I looked behind me and saw the belt dragging behind Betty (I call this one Black Betty).
Worse things have happened... I simply dismounted, gathered my dignity, hoped no one saw what happened, then hiked home, which was probably 1/4 mile at the most, but there is a fairly steep hill between where I was and where I wished I was! No way I was pushing that heavy Bitch up that hill! But I did get lucky by seeing one of my neighbors that happened to be out riding his road bike and he helped me to get her home with the aid of my trusty Cub Cadet 1440! I tied a tow strap to the front and the neighbor drove my tractor, with me sitting on Betty, keeping her upright.
It sucks that the belt broke, but like I stated earlier, I'm blessed that it happened where it did vs. being a long way from home and having to deal with the logistics of getting it back home! At least 1 American-made machine was able to assist another!
Now I'm off to order another belt (its a 1", 130 tooth belt (PC130-1) if anyone knows a good source for a replacement!). Oh boy, I just can't wait to drop the primary and/or rear wheel and swingarm so I can replace the belt! This is where the idea of switching to a chain final drive sounds like a good idea, but this setup has served me well for approx 10 years, so no gripes!

'tis the season to ride ride ride!
Almost bought this exact same bike 4 years ago. It was bars were too low for me to commute on, though.
Bitchen bike. One of my favorites.
