So it's that rubber sole right? Id buy em if it didn't have that heel. Please tell me I am misinterpreting it wrong and the first or second pic is the exact boot
-
dirty, it's the first one:
it has a leather sole. the other two are vintage models from the wwII era for comparison purposes. you can read more about the boondocker here on horween's site if you are so inclined

Yup ty…I spoke to them ..If I am a 12 but like and buy my boots a half to a size smaller for a snug fit as well as to give the impression my feet are smaller than they are...would a 10.5 or an 11 be best?
-
Yeah, that seems like a bad idea. But if you're dead set on using your boots to do a modern version of Chinese foot binding, go with the 10.5. Vibergs use UK sizing, which in my experience is one size smaller than US. Thus, your correct size in Viberg boots would be an 11.:)
-
UK sizes are a half down on US sizing, so a UK11.5 is a US12.
You can often size down a bit with boots, but what I find bothersome isn't so much your toes hitting the end (if they do you've gone down too much), it's the way the boot fits the rest of your foot. I find it's the tops of my toes that get it the worst.
And if you buy a smaller size simply because you think your true size makes your foot look too big, then maybe you need to look at other boots. I find the false tongue on my Daytons breaks up the unreasonably long toe box.

My final Christmas present to myself. They are being sent to my parents' house, so I'll pick them up in early 2013.

About to pick these up.. The lady I talked to at Viberg really wanted me to send in a foot tracing, so that's the next step..
