^Unlikely. Then again, I guess it depends on what your winter is like.

Pretty severe…I live in the French Alps:)
Like Madmonday, I love beige suede/nubuck. Finding it hard to imagine a smooth leather boot. The harness leather looked cool but apparently they don't do it anymore (anyone know why?).
As for the difference between the Scout and the Bobcat...can anyone help? -
The winter thing is my concern too.

Rough out leather is just as durable as smooth leather. After all, it's just smooth leather flipped inside out. As for winter treatment, it's basically the same as for smooth leather- some form of protective coating and some common sense. Let them dry out when they get wet, brush the crap off them when they get dirty. Reapply the coating of protectant when it looks like it's wearing off. Do the simple stuff and the boots should be good for years, even in tough winter locales.

Yeah. I think the service boots I linked above that the reenactment brigade waterproofed and polished look pretty great. Keeping my feet dry is important too, it's not just about the leather for me.

Nice pair MightyMouse! Tried on a similar pair at the pop-up shop and really liked them (beside the fact they were .5" too small for me). Beauties

A new addition to the Viberg Family arrived this morning courtesy of Mr Clint D ( Thanks again Clint for your help in getting this purchase organised ). Clint picked up the boots from the Viberg sample sale but they were a bit too small. His loss has been my gain and I am very pleased with them.
A quick shot of the family
