I just have always thought guys like James dean and Steve MCQueen looked to cool for school and have pretty much r&d been influenced by tht more than anything else. Especially in my community were every one shops at the buckle and wear jeans that have as many fleur de les as they could cram on em and shoes to follow suit. I guess the purpose if my comment was nothing more than. Face value statement, I don't really understand how I went from being head over heels for the 310 last to feeling like its an eye sore (in my opinion and especially ON me when I wear it) without much middle ground between.

Haha indeed. It's actually my day job so I could probably get some research out of it ;).
Really interested in your reaction tatmantall, it's always a really fascinating, often irrational reaction when we find ourselves attracted to a garment (or repulsed by it).
I wonder what it is we see in it: for the garments we love, is it that we see some kind of ideal version of ourselves in it (Freud's ego-ideal maybe)? How we wish others would see us?

Haha… Sorry to bring my personal headaches of understanding into thread.... Thinking out loud again..

Not a huge fan of the elf shoe thing personally; is 310 one of those ski jump lasts?
-
Yeah, it's the one on the viberg flatgead boot posted in the last page

Thanks David, I am planning on making a video for these boots. I am waiting on some cooler weather to try and shoot something outside hopefully.
Tatmantall, I love the 310 last. Lately, I only see other lasts and these stand out. Being unique and getting it at a great deal is a win win for me.

Hey guys, just a heads up before I post them for sale, I'm going to have to let these go I think.
My freakishly long left foot is making things uncomfortable for a 9.5, which is a shame because my right foot is a perfect fit.
Today is the 10th wear and I'd probably have to bring them to a cobblers to get the left boot stretched, and I'd rather instead just order half a size up than stretching out a boot not really meant for my foot!
So PM me if you want 'em. Again, size 9.5s.
Also, I think I'll order some Boondockers. If I probably need a 10 due to length in the 2030 last, what size would you all recommend on the 110?

Great vid KKT.
To offer some advice on sizing, as I've just had Morgan receive and offer advice on my foot sketch.
He said
@Morgan:
Your tracings indicate that your left foot is a 10.5 and your right is a 10. The 2030 last, on which your current boot was built, is slightly longer than our other lasts which is why a 9.5 works although snug. I would suggest a size 10 and having the left boot stretched if necessary and after a week or two's worth of wear.
I asked if he meant I order a size 10 in the 110 also, and he said yes, it's a generous comfortable last, shorter than the 2030.
So I've ordered a 10 in the 110 Boondockers, and I'm on Styleforum's group order for the 2030 service boot in black, size 10 too, and I'll stretch out the left boot.
Anyone else own a 110? How's the fit?

No advice on those particular lasts but I can tell you from personal experience a nightmare story of a pair of engineers that Morgan sized off the same tracing used prior that ended up comparable to slipping my foot in a swimming pool they were so oversized. Not trying to scare you but just be aware, its akways best to be measured on a brannock or try them on… I hope it all works for you though mate!
