Viberg

Does anyone know any good tips on roughout leather care? I really want these Vibergs to last for as long as possible and I have no problem with denim stains and normal wear marks but I'd like to make sure that I don't screw up anything that could affect the life of these.
I have enough knowledge about smooth leather care and have owned several pair of Timberland boots in nubuck or whatever they are. I usually just treat them with a water-repellent spray and then brush them up once in a while.
However, the roughout on the Vibergs is a lot more coarse than the nubuck on the Timberlands and I've heard that water-repellent sprays affect the breathability of the leather so I'm a bit hesitant to use that on them without checking.
I know that brushing them once in a while will keep the roughout texture nice but how about the moisturising part? Greases are out of the question obviously.
I know that these wont age the same way a smooth leather does but I'd still like to have them age as nicely as possible and appreciate all tips that you guys might have. -
Jii
I'd say just wear them, and brush once in a while. Good leather, whatever it is doesn't need moisturising in ages.
Just remember to let them dry properly after every use. I never (never say never) wear same boots/shoes 2 days in a row unless I'm on a biketrip. And usually I have flip flops or sneakers with me even then.
Letting footwear to dry out/breathe properly after use is the most important thing, me thinks…
BTW whereabouts in Hellsinki are you? I'm in Espoo.
