Özil is killing Arsenal. He gave up many possessions including a scoring possession for MC. No idea why he hasn't been benched, he's been a disaster.
-
I can sympathise with Ozil, he's a lot like Ben Arfa in the way that if he feels loved and confident then he's a world beater, if not…..
-
"Man Utd have a Championship standard defence, it is certainly going to be their achilles this season unless a lot is expected of Rojo."
We will see
Yes we will, they have bought well but I'm far from convinced.

In other words, a lack of mental and spiritual fortitude
I think he was also dogging it. The effort wasn't there, and that's harder to forgive.
-
Arsenal make me want to tear my hair out. Özil is dogging it.
as an arsenal fan Ozil frustrates me so much… I wish they'd put santi on instead

Agreed. He cost the Gunners points today IMO.
-
i hope this is the start of king LVG's reign…
-
I'd wait until they are up against real opposition and not just QPR. Having said that, match reports indicated a definite shift in performance that was worth being optimistic about.
It was frustrating that Spurs couldn't win against Sunderland given our possession and number of attempts. Still some way to go in instilling that killer instinct in the team but early days… The Arse v City match earlier on Saturday was a treat. Somehow I ended up in a pub surrounded by Gooners but there was a lot of good football to enjoy.
-
yeah no doubt it's only qpr but like what sugar said, i think they're starting to gel as a team and play that attacking football that LVG wants.

Can anyone with even the most basic level of knowledge of recent Premier League history tell me how the fuck Alan Pardew still has a job? It has to be because he's the owners mate, or owes him money right?
-
Doesn't Pardew have one more game to prove himself now? You've got Hull next so maybe he'll go down in a blaze of head-butting glory!
After that, it would be great to see Newcastle getting back to where they should be and out of the downward spiral towards the Championship.
-
well sometimes sticking with a manager is supposed to be good as opposed to the likes of roman abramovich…
-
Dudes, I could literally write a dissertation on the plight of my beloved Toon, but it would be fucking boring and I'd need lots of beer and box of Kleenex to wipe away my tears if I got into it.
I used to go to games regularly, was there in the old second Division with Jim Smith and Ardiles as a kid, enjoyed the Keegan years, got disillusioned through Gullitt, loved SBR more than anyone else in football ever and have become increasingly apathetic ever since he was unjustly booted for finishing 5th (a fucking dream now).
Pardew is allegedly the lowest paid manager in the Prem, but his target bonus's (finish 10th) are so massive that it bumps him up to one of the highest, same way Mike Ashley pays the Sports Direct staff, crap wage with an unbelievable bonus for success (monetary not on the pitch). Short story, paying up his contract would'nt break the bank. The other side to it is there are not many managers who would stand in front of the camera and directly lie to the fans week in, week out…. see this website for details and examples, despite the name it is really well done....
Mike Ashley released a statement last week denying that the club was for sale....until at least after the 2016 season, which is incidentally when the current TV deal runs out. Basically he was saying "I'm here for the money, and when I've had it I'll fuck off".
Popular misconceptions spread through the media of this situation include....
-
Mike Ashley paid off the debt and made the club fanatically secure. Rubbish, he transferred the debt from the banks to himself in the form of a loan and has since added a further £49m, which he can recall at any time.
-
Pardew spent £39m in the summer. Rubbish, with outgoings the net spend was £1.8m.
Current records held by Pardew are...
1st manager ever to lose three consecutive derby games against the Mackems.
First manager to lose 8 consecutive games EVER.
5 wins in the last 26 league matches.
The lowest points total of any league club in 2014.
The least goals scored by any league club in 2014.
All the above is true and can be checked, do you think a change is required?
-
-
I never knew they were under such financial pressure, kind of makes sense since they've sold some key players and haven't really replaced them with key talent (i.e. Demba Ba being sold off)
is Joe Kinnear still around as well?
@Megatron1505 would you be happy if David Moyes took over?
-
Those are some interesting (albeit pretty bloody depressing) stats Mega. With the ridiculous Manager-Go-Round of recent years it is surprising that he's lasted so long.
-
Honestly mate, it's no surprise to any Newcastle fan. Pardews employment has precisely jack and shit to do with his abilities as a manager and more to do with gambling at the same casino as Ashley and Llambias.
Really sad to hear the news about Jonas as well, a true model pro who stuck with us through relegation and other tough times.
