Just got my handmade card wallet from John Faler First heard of him on the superfuture forums and wanted to share his awesome work with everyone here. I chose his diamond back rattler model because I liked the contrast of the rattlesnake inlay's roughness and the smooth Hermann Oak British Brown leather. John included a personal letter describing his choice of materials and how they were all sourced in the USA: the snake skin, Hermann Oak leather and even the stitching cord. It very much exceeded my expectations and I wanted to show him some love here If you're in the market for some meticulously made leather goods check him out: http://falerbrand.tumblr.com/
I bought one of his shell medium wallets about 7 months ago. Love his stuff.

There are some great looking wallets on this thread. Here is the one made from a local here in Utah, Unlucky / Don't Mourn Organize / Scott Willis. He can be found a bunch of different ways. The bottom right pic is after about 2 months. The others are the photos he took before shipping it out to me. Can't wait to see how it evolves with the mega beatle busters I've pre-ordered.

Happened to me too… I just covered it in obernauf and embraced it..

If anyone's kicking themselves about missing the Ironheart Denim Wallet Leash, Early to Rise LA sell one.
They also make denim stockings for Christmas presents.

Just got a new wallet from The Blackacre (www.theblackacre.net). It's hard to convey how awesome the leather is - Horween red/brown CXL horsehide.
After the first day of use:
I was trying to show how the leather looks different depending on the light.

No fancy arse chain style wallets , just a simple zip up and a nice coin holder my mate
made for me . I had a black coin holder he made me in black years ago , it went all over
the globe . Somehow I lost it in a local shopping centre ….fugging hell .Cheers,
Scott

Anybody any experience with studio d'artisan wallets? Like the blue one here. Overpriced?

sorry its 350 USD

Actually, the leather is pretty cheap, relatively speaking. Finding and/or training someone to make something out of that leather is the expensive part. Master level expertise isn't cheap, nor should it be. Is $350 too much? Like scroogen said, that's up to you.

boe_116 those are nice pieces. when you say you added the fabric, do you have images of the wallet before or did you build it from the ground up & then added the fabric? also what kind of fabric & leather you use? might want to put your work in the crafts thread, & again it looks nice.

Arnoldlayne, no usage experience, but have touched and felt SDA wallets whilst in Japan. They are right up there quality-wise. Maybe slightly over priced, but there's an emotional connection so it equals out anyhow. The only gripe with this generation of leather works (RedMoon are the same, and I have a RM wallet), is the stitching is with Nylon, and over many years is likely to bust.
Iron Heart, The Flat Head, Hollows, Corter, Vojey, TannerGoods, ObbiGoods, and Angelos all use forms of tendons for stitching which can handle much more abuse long term.
Summary; Ultimate in many forms, stitching over years of abuse, may require repairs.
