The Strike Gold

For those interested in knowing how much the Crew Neck Sweats shrink/stretch with wash and wear…
I have worn my crewneck (XL) pretty much 2-4 times per week since getting it in November. I originally did very quick cool wash + line dry til damp and machine dry on low to "fluff" it up - then ran a warm iron over it.
I just have it a second full was in "cool" water and full line dry + "fluff" in dryer on low - the shrink was so much I was glad I was able to iron most of it out again.
Hope this helps someone!!

Will they always shrink, or do they reach a point after enough water exposure that it basically stops? Seems an iron gets it back to original, which is good to know. I've wanted a crew from them for awhile now but haven't justified it yet.

I've only had this one 2 months now and it's only seen water twice so I can not speak on if the shrink eventually stops, but I'm guessing it probably will level out eventually like most cotton products.
The sweatshirt is very nice. Hard to justify yes, but def worth it!

Strike Gold doesn't do a cut very close to what you want. If you can make it work, get the 5105. I checked them out in person, and the denim is some of the coolest I've ever seen. I'd like to get a pair some day. Another forum member said that they are releasing a new denim with Self Edge, though they tend to go pretty skinny on their collab cuts. Of course, TFH also has some great stuff. Also, the 19oz. Lefty denim from IH is incredible. Check the 634s-19l, it's cut closer to a 633. You can't really go wrong.

Kinda what I figured by looking at them. Shucks on to flat head I guess.

5105 is special denim, but the cuts are impossible unless you are skinny w/no butt. I even sized up and could not make the rise work. My older 2109s I sized up two, which means everything fits, but the waist is loose, so that's the pair I wear when I want to tuck in heavy shirts!
i love the 5105 fit, i think you dont like the low rise? maybe a higher rise is better fit for you? ive got a pair ive repaired twice, its my daily jean. ordering a 5205 now really love the material.

If anyone wants an XL Oatmeal crew neck, hit me up. Love it, it just doesn't fit me right after the second wash. Gonna try my luck on a Buzz.

You might be disappointed with the BR sweat after having the strike gold sweat… It feels so flimsy compared to strike gold's material. Have you tried the real mccoy ball park sweats? they run about a size bigger than strike gold. They are not quite as soft but are about same thickness and they age really well. and they are prewashed so little to no shrinkage is to be expected.

Thanks for the input Jeef! I'll check them out. Thanks!

Was down in SF this past weekend. Had a chance to have a look at Self Edge's new collaboration with Strike Gold. Honestly probably one of the most drool inducing pair of jeans I have held in my hands in quite some time. Incredible details. Insane texture. And a very rad patch. I don't really need the jeans but I have a feeling I won't last the rest of the week before pulling the trigger.
