The Evolution of Iron Heart

Thanks buddy

I took advantage of the mid-day sunshine to get a detailed shot of the fade shifting. I took more but I was unhappy with them. This camera on this phone is garbage.
I am looking forward to what these will look like in a few more months.
-
The shifting is not that bad… I think they look awesome Mike!

How can you get those nice fat combs that I see so often?
Does it depend on the heaviness of the denim?..21oz compared to 25?
Ive been wearing the 666-21s for almost nine months and have got nice combs going, but they are close together and look like an accordian.
I wear mine every day, work in them, play in them–its just how they are.
Does IB or OD bring out the fatter combs? And how exactly would you "set" the combs--?
I thought that maybe the cuff has something to do with it depending on how much stacking there is.
I would really like to get those FAT ones with my next pair. Any tips?

Not so much to do with the denim, although it does play a part. Those close together accordion combs occur mostly on jeans that are slim at knee, although from experience the wear patterns from 21oz accentuate the effect because of how stubborn that denim is. 555s-21 is probably going to give you that horizontal ribbed effect more than many other pairs and your 666s-21 will do it too, especially in the smaller waist sizes.
Looser cuts and heavier, more contrasty denim will give you fatter rolls and those big aquatic, diamond shaped wear patterns behind the knee. Think 634-XHS for example.

Thanks for the quick reply Reuben.
That gives me a good direction in which to go in with my next pair.
Im almost nervous to try another cut as the 666 is really spot on as far as my body type.
Im 5' 11" and around 175 pounds, so the low rise with the devils cut just feels perfect. But like they say–variety is the spice of life

That did occur to me. I have the diamond shaped fat rolls on my 666-XHS but they are w36 so there is more fabric behind the knee than on the slimmer sizes you use.
You may find a heavier version of the 666 or a wider iteration like the 666-19L get you what you want. The perfect one for you would have been the 1955-UHR, but that doesn’t exist anymore. In think the 634 looks great on tall, slimmguys though, so maybe try that. It is good that you can try them on first at B&S.
-
Good point about trying them on first at B&S.
The guys there are always cool to deal with. I bet I could even convince @Alex_24 to come along.
I bought a lot of shirts-jackets lately and now its time to turn my attention to another bottom.
666-19L –-also sounds intriguing. Some things to research now.
Thanks again for the good help : -

My pleasure buddy. The 19L, is a fantastic, underrated denim. I love my pair.

They look real good G. Im doing the same since I got my 666-21s last year.
Wearing mine hard every day (like @Twin always says), and eventually you look at them and see the evo happening.
Those fades are really nice.
@Chap
On my knees too lately..praying for things:)
Indigo Black needs to be my next ones
P.S. those detail shots are a great touch -
Using the natural light reflection of the snow to try and capture the real color of these jeans. Best viewed in HDR.

That snow down there should be envy of the Indigo! Give it some….
-
I am reluctant to do that because I just washed them and the yard is like a giant mud wrestling pit. But I wear them pretty much constantly and even sleep in them a lot.

My 19oz indigo/blacks after 9 months more or less continuous lock-down wear, and 2 or 3 washes…...
Those look great. I do love jeans with colored weft.
