IH-666S - The Devil's Fit Indigo - Slim Tapered
-
Hey folks, just wanted an opinion on a fit pic, before I soak and commit to these! Waist seems to fit perfect, and should require a bit of stretching after a soak. Definitely would not want to size down based on that. The thighs are a bit loose, and I can pinch about 2 inches of fabric. Thoughts or opinions? Wear em and love em, or find another cut?

Those look way too big to me, at least from behind. And it's hard to tell for sure from these pics, but the rise looks awfully high, like you're wearing them on your waist rather than on your hips. They almost look like a 1955 cut in that respect. Are you sure you can't size down?

What kind of look are you going for? Personally, I think those light fit really well after shrink. I also like to be comfortable, and if you size down on unsanforized denim it might not feel too good. I'm not sure if those are going to be "slim" but I think it could be really promising if you keep those

My thoughts mirror xtcclassic's but better pics might help.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies! I'm comfortable with these being a bit on the loose side. I have my 555-01's if I want super slim :). I bit the bullet and soaked these, and the fit is a lot better. Take a look:
May do one more soak and see if I can shrink them up more. If not, I am happy as is. -
Fit looks really good after a soak. Congrats!

Great fit man well done. And after a machine wash after a while or so all the shrinkage will be gone, great pair -
Great Ranch Hand shirt too

Soak did the job on those fella. Thought pre soak they didn't look like they fit right at all. Post soak, fit is great and all is well!

Wow, that's a huge difference. Totally different ball game now. They look fine.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I genuinely thought, after lots of reading, that 18 oz denim would shrink tons and be unforgiving. It seems after a day of wear these have loosened up quite a bit already. Almost to the point where they are too loose. Despite the fit looking alright, I will probably be selling these in the end.

With my Vulcans, I gave them two soaks over the course of 6 months or so and thought I had the shrink out. I gave them a machine wash and got even more so don't give up hope on them.

I'm not the type to say I told you so but…well, actually I am. Those look great! In my opinion a size down is just asking for trouble. If you think they're getting a little loose then just turn them inside out and give them a hot wash (without detergent if they're not dirty). I'm sure they'll shrink more; I don't have experience with this particular denim, but after a wash all unsanforized denim I've had has shrunk noticeably more than just by a soak. I think you'll be happy if you do that.
Also- make sure they're dry before you wear them. I know it's tempting to put them on as soon as possible but denim stretches out way easier/faster when it's wet.

JerUsidae, I'll just echo what others have said. I don't own any 18 oz denim (555-01 only so far) and I was sceptical that they would work for you after a soak, but they look great in your pictures.

Well, I gave these a week, and they are absolutely way too loose. I can pull them down over my ass when not wearing a belt. They have been soaked twice so any additional shrinkage won't be enough for me to be truly happy. They will be getting sold Hopefully I will size right next time.
