Apple is like that too. Designed in California made somewhere else. I think most of the world is like that.>:(

Got hit by a sledgehammer named "the flu" Wednesday night… Couldn't move at all yesterday except to ralf... Feeling a bit better today but far from 100. I must say, I'm not a fan.

Their new Mac Pro is Designed Cali, Assembled USA.
.
Back to the OP tho, just because it's made in China doesn't make it bad, nor does it being made in the USA make it good. There's slave labour and minimum wage issues globally….Mega had a really good rant about this the other day...

I did, and I also did a blog post touching on the very same subject

Will send you a PM

In Los Angeles? Really?

Thats incredible, and as you say surely not ethical. I'm amazed that can happen in the USA, I guess it is the big argument for the minimum wage :-\

Stitch a "crafted in the USA" tag on and sell for $300….... capitalism in action

I remember watching " Mary's bottom line" about a women trying to get textiles made in the uk again and she was paying her staff around £ 6.50 that is around min wage to make fancy underwear that sells in liberty for £30 a pair. Her staff were skilled and most with 30 years experience. Imo £6.50 is to low for a skilled/ qualified worker to be earning in the uk.

That's why there are all these fucking kick starter denim brands proudly made in the USA. L. A. Definitely has a slave labor textile industry going on. A lot of "premium" "high fashion" labels use it for their jeans. Railcar is the exception.

We had a sudden and very aggressive storm last night. Felled trees, flash floods, the works.
Given the probable scale of destruction, it would be in poor taste to complain about the power outage.
When is the electrical company gonna get their ass in gear and get my fecking power back on?
-
If I supply the denim and fixings, I can produce jeans in Angeles for USD12, there is no way that is ethical…

That's the business model for True Religion, 7 For All Mankind, Citizen Of Humanity and a dozen other "premium" labels.
