White's Boots
-
i think the double midsole is a matter of taste - there are some killer boots with double soles - you might like it. I think (I have read) that they may be a bit harder to break in with a double sole, but i can't say from personal experience, as all mine are single. These are my classic dress boots with single sole and commando mini-lug half sole and 1 lift lower heel.

I agree and there are some double midsole that i considered basing my built. My worry is since its standard for a commando mini lug half sole to have tiny double midsole then my order of a double midsole will actually have tripple midsole and with 1/4 lowered lifts might look funny, the one on my mind is just excatly the same as yours. anyway i sent email to Bakers if it is possible to revised my order, hoping its ot too late for it.

FYI for anyone with a lot of money and little patience, Imogene & Willie has a full restock of their I&W branded White's boots.

Four nice builds to choose from, and no 8+week wait :)… but looks like at least $100+ markup vs. Baker's.

Interesting interview with Rob Smith, Customer Service Manager over at White's

Great article - several times strangers have seen and asked me about my boots, and they are always fascinated when they start looking at the details, the leather, heels, sole, etc. I don't know if any have gone and bought some, but they always ask where I got them and what brand they are. Same thing with IH jeans - I know for a fact one guy who was a waiter at a restaurant I go to asked me about my jeans actually found the IH site and bought some 634s - probably 2-3 weeks take-home pay! Dude loves his jeans.

Do anyone know the differences between the last´s?
Especially the difference between the classic and standard last.
Thank you! -
I'm no expert but here is a start - others will comment/clarify for sure…
Smoke-Jumper - the "standard"/base White's last - a "squarish" toe shape
Semi-Dress - has a lower profile than the SJ, "rounder" toe shape
Bounty Hunter is a SJ style boot built with a SD last
Western - pointier/slimmer toe (Packer)
C641 - SD last with a more upturned toe (you can get this last on a number of boots incl. Classic Dress, and Americana/retro too I think)
Cougar/Northwest - not sure on that one. -

Cougar/Northwest - not sure on that one.I've called White's several times and even they don't give good descriptions of the different lasts. It would be helpful if they showed the toe shape on their models. The soles are also quite confusing. If you order single leather sole with vibram 700 or commando…you get a double leather sole...or at least what looks and feels like one. Go figure!!!
