The Real McCoys
-
Was asked by another forum buddy to maybe kick-start a thread for McCoys (Real, Joe etc)
I own a pair of Lot 906s' - there is a pic here http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=165.msg44826#msg44826
And below some more pics as per request:
so, guess it's up to all you other good people if you want to weigh in . . .

Those 906 are soaked once, (chainstitched by the only expert we need to know) and lightly worn.
They are similar to the Real McCoys 614 and made with 14.75 oz selvedge raw denim.
The denim is slubby and feels quite 'hairy' compared to IH - although I think, with wear, this will change.
Size-wise the superdenim site was accurate pre-soak http://www.superdenim.co.uk/prodpage.asp?productid=367 and fairly accurate post-soak too - shrinkage was as stated. The waist in mine has now stretched back up to 35" so feel good.
Rise is probably a bit low for me givem my big ol' ass but good jeans overall I think.

How would those compare to Sugar Canes Okinawas or to Momotaros or to Pure Blue Japan of similar weight fabric???
-
I'm a big fan of all the denim products from Mccoy family (Real;Joe;Toys). ::)

Thanks for your post! It was me who asked you for the pics. Looking good!
I read somewhere that the McCoy denim is similar to the Denime denim. The Denime XX denim is my favorite in the 13-15oz range -
The Joe Mccoy Jeans have three series, just use the 905 as an example, they r 905, 905xh and s905xh. 905 and 906 r only the basic denim from Joe Mccoy. And yes, the Joe McCoy denim is similar to the Denime denim. But in my opinion the S( )XH denim from JM r simply the best denim in the 13-15 range.

Reviving an old thread here but I have The Real McCoy's Pea Coat as my winter coat. It's cut a couple of inches longer than the Buzz Rickson one which makes a big difference as I can wear it over a suit jacket without the suit jacket showing at all (which unfortunately it did when I tried on the Buzz Rickson).
The Real McCoys one is 37oz dual layer melton wool, weighs a ton but has an absolutely beautiful cut. Some cool touches too like corduroy lined pockets.

ha, i will post some up in the next few days.

SC denim is one of the nicest within the 13 - 15 oz range…McCoys are okay, but I think the Cane denim has more character
But the king of the hill in the 13-15 category has got to be the Pure Blue Japan. Got myself one while in Tokyo and it is freaking nice. Almost like the 002 in terms of fabric irregularities and … shit, whats the term already?

Ok, ready for the NY winter:
