The Flat Head

I've tried on the 3009 and the rise is fine. It's a good cut and I kinda regret choosing the 3001 instead (which shrunk to the point I cannot wear them anymore).

I have a store credit with Self Edge and am Debating on getting the 3009's. I've heard that sizing is a bit off on these. Is that the case? Or can I count on Self Edge's measurements?
i have the 3009 its a great jeans. The cut is actually based on the same model as the IH 634 signature. I stayed in the 3009 with my usual 30 and have no probs so far but thats me. I did the same re sizing with my 3005 in a 30 and after several washes i am still able to fit into em, but again each body is different.
Good luck

I don't know the actual figure, but if I had to guess based on how I recall them fitting, I would say between 15.75-16" right after a soak.
Also, I'm not sure how tall you are, but be careful not to hem. Unless SE has their FH jeans lengthened specifically for them, the actual length is closer to 36" with at least 2.5" of shrink with successive washes/soaks.

Damn. Those look perfect David!

Agree! How you manage to get the jeans to pop from your thighs but then run straight just amazes me. Perfect!

It's the 3009 cut. There's quite an intense taper down to the hem and I highly recommend soaking twice, as it really slims up hip through to the thigh.

Soak with agitation to ensure the get the shrinkage out. Flat Head denim is super dark so you won't lose colour by doing this.

great fit.

Thanks for the cut tips davito / Shoreman. I've had a pair of flatheads on my to pick up list for a few years. Will pay more attention to the 3009 cut to try for a similar sillouette on my next purchase, whichever the brand may be.
@davito, I've been in love with the '47 cut for a LONG time, maybe it's time to come forwards to the '60s
