IH-777-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo

Any advice welcome. Thanks all.
Measurements are key. Tag size can be deceptive as different iterations of the same cut can vary slightly.
Measure your best fitting pair like IH do, then compare with the tables.

Thanks for such a quick reply.

Thanks for such a quick reply.
My pleasure. When you’ve got your stats for your used pair, and have compared them you just need to factor in shrinkage/stretch depending on the denim.
For example if you find your best fitting current pair have a actual measured waist of 35” you need a pair of XHS that are about 34.5” when new. After shrinkage and stretch they’ll sit around 35”.

So mad question but… I have been searching high and low for a 36 777 xhs. Have found a 34 but my worry is my 666 ods are 36 and measure at 18.5. The 34 in 777 xhs comes in at 17. Is 1.5 inches way too much too size down? I do plan on losing some weight but don't hold me to it lol.

Way too much, they will cut you in half, if you could get them buttoned up.
The OD stretches quite a bit and does not shrink, the XHS stretches, but only slowly, and will lose almost an inch in the waist with the first wash/soak.
To put it into numbers, the XHS will likely end up around 35.5” (measured the IH way), after shrinkage and stretch. Still two actual inches away from your OD’s.
I would recommend adopting IH measuring techniques, measure your OD pair as they are now, and use the tables on the IH site for comparison.

Thanks so much. Worth joining this forum just to learn from you.

Definitely not. You’ll be lucky to get a quarter inch.

Is it reasonable for the XHS to stretch 1/2 inch in the thighs with wear? I understand the waist will stretch 1 - 1.5 inches with wear… not sure the same applies to the thighs.
@xtcclassic speaks the truth. Stretch happens relative to width of fabric and requires maximum pressure. 1” on a waistband of 34” equates to very little on a thigh of 13”.
If you then consider that the XHS will shrink some after the first wash, you generally only end up with a pair that stays around published measurements, possibly a little (0.2”) bigger.

…how long out are we looking at for a full restock? Looking for the 'Goldie Locks' pair of 36" even.
...almost identical measurements as the 555's except for a one inch reduction in rear rise, generally speaking.
...me likey.
...absolutely love my 777-XHSBB's!

…screw it! went with the size 36 (36.7 posted). Hopefully one of the two pair left are closer to a true 36" waist.
....@Kasi advises to size up for optimal 'crack coverup' and @sabergirl warns of sizing down with XHS denim and the brutal punishment that goes along with that break in! (too old for that shit). :D…so I think I found the 'Goldie Locks' compromise! I hope. ::)

…hah! Turned out the smallest waist size Graham and the boy's had was a 36.9. Almost passed, glad I didn't. They fit great! With a soak, a wash and a hang dry the measurements turned out great.
waist-36.9" 36"
front rise-11" 10.5"
rear rise-15.3" 15"
thigh-13.1" 12.8"
knee-8.7" 8.6"
hem-8.3" 8.1"
inseam-37.5" 36.3"…the obligatory @Jett129 'Jean, cuff, boot photo'.
…had a 3" cuff but pulled another inch out, now a solid 2" cuff!! Love it!
-
…let the break in begin!
-

The builder crack is where the looks at!

…@RoxRocks86 If I see builders crack it makes want to put a long stem Rose in there!
...this cut is quite literally the 555 cut with less rear rise. I'm down with it! They sit on your hips like Burt Reynold's bell bottoms!
...joy to the world!
