3sixteen

HUGE fan of 3sixteen denim, chinos, T shirts, and flannels. Favorite US brand by far, second favorite brand overall behind IH.
Agree. I'm kinda luke warm on their flannels and jackets but love their henleys and jeans. The only reason i'm keeping my flannels is because they're lightweight and I don't have many of those outside of my Edgevale flannels. I still have an unworn pair of the ST-140X brown weft 17oz denim too. Just never got around to wearing them. But they're nice to have since they discontinued that model. I never really bothered looking at the details of their jeans before but upon closer inspection it's cool seeing stuff like the pick axe rivets and the dual belt loops on the back. I also like the simplicity of their jeans and the fact that they don't have arcuates. I'm not opposed to arcs but so many denim companies have ugly ones, although I really like IH arcs.
Pretty much agree with all of that and you nailed it with the flannels, they are the perfect lightweight option when it's too warm for my Iron Heart. They are absolutely not on the same level as the UHF's and I wasn't implying that but for what they are and the purpose they serve I haven't found anyone better but RgT will drop some nice lightweight flannels as well from time to time. I don't love all of 3sixteens flannels but they drop some very nice colors/patterns on a fairly consistent basis. It's like Iron Heart light for me.
EDIT: although I will say 3sixteen does drop some heavier flannels that are the next best thing to UHF's in my opinion. They dropped two "heavy" ones this past year and two lighter ones, I picked up all four.

@gaseousclay you recommend the 17oz beige wefts? I have been looking at them for a while and contemplating getting a pair and I think they still have some left in my size.
-
I haven't tried any of the 3sixteen+ jeans yet but those do look great @el padre
-
3sixteen also has done some cool collabs with Good Art and Viberg.

I'd say yes, they're worth a try. But, I haven't worn mine yet so can't comment on anything other than that I own a pair. I really like my shadow selvedge denim if that's any indication. I'm pretty sure @den1mhead has a pair of the st-140x beige weft denim that he actually wears so he might be the better person to answer your question.

Agree on 3sixteen having nice colors and patterns. I'm not positive but I think they develop their own colors/patterns with one of the mills they work with.

And to further add, i'm not sure which 3sixteen cut is your favorite but i've really taken a shine to their SL "straight slim." My size 34 SL-120X measures about 35" at the waist after it stretched out, 12.5" thigh, 8.5" knee and 8" hem (at 31"). These measurements appear to be pretty darn close, if not exactly the same as IH's new 777-142 cut. I haven't measured my ST-140x's yet but i'm sure those are a tad slimmer since they're the slim taper

I like the ST cut for 3sixteen but the SL cut does look good. I've gravitated towards a slimmer cut over the years. I used to be all about the straight cuts but I prefer the slimmer more tapered cuts these days.

I measured my st-140x size 34 to give you an idea. These are unworn and measured the IH way.
Waist: 17”
Thigh: 12”
Knee: 8.5”
Inseam: 35.5”
Hem: 7.75”I didn’t bother measuring the front/rear rise though

@manufc10 here's a pic of my ST-140X 17oz Slim Tapered Heavyweight Brown Weft jeans. I really love the colour contrast of the denim when wearing cuffs. They are a great fit and feel good on. They have internal felled seams on the inside leg rather than simply being overlocked. At $190 usd they are a bargain imo

Those look great @den1mhead, thank you for the pic. I wonder why they discontinued this denim? Maybe not selling well for some reason.

Well looks like my size is gone now anyways. It's too bad they are discontinuing both 17oz Indigo denims. Maybe that means they have a new heavyweight fabric coming?

These are ST or SL measurements? I have the ST cut in 3 pairs but haven't tried the SL cut yet.

ST. The only difference that I can see is in the thigh, which is .5” smaller on the ST cut. The thigh measures 12.5” on my SL-120x

I’ve wondered the same. I’m sure the mill they work with could churn out heavyweight denim, I’m just wondering if it’s not cost effective for them. Also, we don’t know if the factory they use can sew a pair together as effectively as IH

Anyone else notice that the heavyweight t shirts have changed for the worse? The cotton feels rougher, they lose shape / change size drastically.. on a cold 'delicates' wash. Their suggestion that you should always cold handwash the shirts is crazy, who on earth has enough time to handwash t shirts. Been buying them for a few years and the quality has definitely slipped..beware the latest batches.

Fortunately this hasn't been my experience at all. How recent did you buy your last batch of T's? I bought some this past fall/winter and the quality was great, consistent with the ones I have from about 4 years ago. I don't hand wash mine either, machine cold wash and hang dry.
