i have these bad boys. i went true to size 10 and they fit like a dream! one thing to get used to was that they have no insole, but they feel amazing!!!!! -

Usually Danner shoes are proffered by Military professionals.

I bought mine TTS as well (I wear a size 7 Women's in boots). I got these:

**The RAT represents the toughest boot components in the world – all stitched together to create one ultra-rugged war boot. 1000 Denier nylon, full-grain nubuc, and reinforced leather overlays create a fortress of protection and support. Underneath, you’ll find Vibram 360 outsoles with Dri Ice for unrivaled flexibility and traction in frigid condition. There’s nothing the RAT can’t handle.
Rugged all-terrain and built with nothing but the best materials, the Danner RAT stands ready for any mission, any environment, any time.**
I love these ! I've been wearing them nearly every day since I got them. And trust me…ask people on this forum who have known me since Day 1
-- I've never been a boot wearer !! .But since I do a lot of hard-core hiking, I wanted some good, attractive boots that weren't just "hiking boots". When I buy shit, I ask myself first – are these one trick ponies ? (meaning, can I use them for only one type of activity or event ?). If the answer is "YES", I don't buy. I'm a minimalist at heart. Just as the ad claims, these boots can be used for every day use, work, Mt. Whitney hiking (about the most rigorous there is), walking the dog -- and just....hangin' out.

So I had been wanting a vintage pair of Hikers, like Viberg has been putting out for awhile. Unfortunately most of the one's I liked were in the $600-$700 range, and I just couldn't justify it right now. I found these Danners though and with a coupon code, got em for $270 and I'm really stoked. They should be here late this week or early next, I'll post some fit pics then.

These boots just look weird to me. Too bulky maybe
I could see that, they are quite big, not gonna be everyone's style for sure.
I've been feeling Danner for a while now. Perfect for urban areas that experience nasty winters.
Yeah, this was my thought as well. We don't get a tonne of snow here, but it's always pissing rain and I needed something waterproof and tough for when I go hiking.

So I got my Danner's the other day, sorry for the iphone fit pics, will try to get better shots soon. First impressions are that the leather is super thick and construction is very well done. They are a bit wide, but I just need some thicker socks and I'll be good to go. I'm wearing my 666Sod with them and had to double cuff because the shoes are quite bulky. I think they look pretty badass though.

nice boot

How did you size, Plow? The guy at Woodland's told me to go a half size down from my Alden Truebalance size. I wasn't sure about this recommendation and opted not to order a pair.
I think sizing down is the right idea. On a brannock device I'm just under a size 14US, my feet are pretty narrow however. These are an EE width and everything I read said these fit large so I wound up going with a 13 in these, they are perfect length wise, but just a bit wide still. I think a 14 would have been far too large.

Thank you for the advice. Now, if only I can track down a size 9 in the 30866 Mountain Light Hiking boot…
