IHSH-130-PB - Purple/Black Ombre Ultra Heavy Western Shirt

Thanks. I’ll hot wash and hang dry first and see if that works. Guess I’ll wait till I get it first to see just how big it is. It was an impulse purchase so kinda paranoid it’ll fit like a tent on me. The length looks fine — it’s the sleeves and chest I’m worried about.

You'll get more shrinkage in the arms and body (length) than in the chest, shoulders and waist. This is a function of proportions.
It's a great shirt and @Jett129 has a very good point: Worst case, layer the bugger.

Good points. If it doesn’t shrink much I could wear it as a shacket. Or sell it [emoji3]

An odd observation, when I viewed this shirt on my desktop it was showing 0 stock in size large. But on my cell it’s showing they have large in stock. Does this show up for you guys? Wondering if it’s a cache thing with my cell

Went on through my iPad and saw Large shirts available.

Got my purple ombre today and I'm pleased to say that the xl actually fits me. My other UHF's are a size large and those are fitted. The xl gives me a little chest room and I don't think the sleeve length is that bad. I'm sure they'll bunch up over time and i'll lose a half inch. I'm now starting to wonder if I should start going xl on all UHF's. All of my large UHF's measure approximately 22" p2p. This xl is a hair under 23" but my sweet spot would be 22.5".

Ok, I did a warm wash/hang dry on my purple ombré and here are the pre/post wash measurements:
Chest: 23” > 22.5”
Sleeve: 26.5” > 26”
Length: 29.5” > 29”
Shoulders: 18.5” (no shrinkage)Now it fits perfectly. I may have to reconsider going up a size on UHF’s moving forward. My others are a size large and haven’t been washed yet. I’ll likely cold wash/hang dry those to minimize shrinkage

Great news @gaseousclay. It’s good to have the option to do this when the numbers don’t quite work. I’m pleased it worked out. In my experience a cold wash won’t shrink the uhf noticeably.

I did the same to my 180 with the same shrinkage. But, the 180 measured even bigger than the purple ombré. Looks like I’m gonna have to nuke it from orbit just to be sure. It’s an experiment for me, albeit an expensive one

That’s my favourite Aliens reference so your endeavour is blessed already. Hot washing it will give more shrinkage for sure. If you still have room now after a warm wash, I highly doubt that it will render it unwearable. You may see that the hand of the fabric changes slightly, but if the shirt fits better it is a small price to pay in my opinion.
