PIH5DCT - 25oz Indigo/Indigo Selvedge Denim Tapered Cut
-
A pair of tag 36 have been "specialed….."

Rip my wallet. These things looked way too good to pass up again. Post soak the measurements look good for me since I want something a little looser than my tapered samurais. First pair of IH jeans. Now I can wear the full armor, 25oz pants and 19oz jacket

Did any 34's make it in? By the time I got to look, there are none showing up.

DAAAYUUUMMM!

Now to play the waiting game. My debit card may have killed itself after this purchase but I'm pumped for these things man
-
Ugh man I cant wait to wear these things. Gonna have to put a towel on the seat of my car though cuz I bet these things bleed like crazy

Good idea, the denim do bleed . I have a towel on car leather seat. Secondly be careful at home upholstery sofa and other cloth material. Already ruined expensive sofa which I didn't realized until my wife point it out the indigo leak.

Ever since I've gotten in to raw denim I've kept a towel on my truck seat lol. I wash it once a week and it's actually quite surprising the amount of Indigo that rubs off on to the towel every week even when wearing a pair of Cones or other slow bleeders.

Even tho I didn't get a pair of these, I'd put them thru my usual wash routine for new denim, to get the extra shrink out as well as any extra indigo.
Basically: inside-out, front load machine (no agitator), wash hand cycle, mild liquid detergent, cold water, no spin; then a 1 minute or so slow spin just to get excess water out, and then hang dry. Then I do it all over again a 2nd time, with hot water. Sometimes I might do a 3rd hot wash, right-side out. I've also found ironing after hang drying helps the denim relax and hang better. Also, I've started using Obenauf's Leather Oil on patches before I wash. It darkens the patch a lot, but I think it'll extend the life a long time, as I wash frequently.
I've done it on several pairs now, and have had no discernible loss of indigo darkness, and no crease lines. It does reduce the amount of indigo bleeding considerably, depending on the pair.
Sorry for derailing the discussion… Still messmerized by these thing! carry on!

Yeah I'll be hot soaking them for sure with some agitation to get rid of as much shrink as possible. Most of my furniture is dark brown so hopefully my parents wont notice haha but I have a feeling I'm going to make some of my professors mad by turning their chairs blue haha
