Things that have changed my life in the last 12 months

I think i'd have to say finally getting my social work diploma in France. Probably the first time in my life i've actually been proud of myself. Uni studies in a foreign language with a new born at home and a full time job…it was far from easy but I got there in the end Life is a wee bit less stressful and more enjoyable as a result. Can finally make the most of my beautiful little man (the biggest life changer of all who's 2 1/2 already).

@Madame:
I am fit now. 1.5kms swimming per day. Dropped a waist size.
Good thread.
Bloody great, Hectic. But pix in your swimtrunks or it never happened…
Do they have to be budgie smugglers or can the poor man wear surf shorts?
Speedo Aquashorts on a thin day, otherwise its the Mambo surf shorts

Great story. Kudos.

Thanks Hectic. Wow, the word "Speedo" usually strikes fear into the heart of your average englishman. Here in France i've had to get used to them (you HAVE to wear the feckin things in public swimming baths) AND the Ermintrude bathing cap (I kid you not…I did draw the line at the flowery ones though). Swimming isn't quite so appealing as a result

In the past 12 months my life has changed significantly. I went from not really knowing what I wanted to do in school and at a Community College to studying sociology at The #4 university in the world (according to the most recent poll; only harvard, MIT and Oxford are above UC Berkeley), my girlfriend has been studying in Chile for the past 3+ months and I have been studying and reading more than I did in all of high school. Not to mention I have met and befriended many an individual from here at the IHF. You guys rock… Well, you guys and gals, gotta be inclusive!

P.S. Stanford can suck it!

Seems like the last year, for me, is the first time 5-6 running, in which absolutely nothing has changed. My immediate circumstances will be changing soon though, as I will make another attempt at moving. Also, I'll be making more money than I ever have before after my two year review rolls around next month. Giles and IH will take much of it… Also Also, soon, being a bonded notary public, I will notarize better than taco:

No way! Yeah I lived in Brunswick Place and was lucky enough to also live in the beautiful Brunswick Square….top floor, views of the sea and roof terrace. Brighton is a great city. London by the sea...the music, the diversity, the weirdness, oh and the smoked mackerel on the beach...I still miss it after 10 years away! My sister still lives there so I get back there now and again. You still live there?

I don't want to rub it in to those who are struggling just thought I would share…
I lost more than 100lbs Dec 31, 2009 - Dec 31, 2010. That's right, it was my new years resolution and did it cold turkey. Shopping for clothes is alot easier and more fun when your size is readily available. I always had to look at the biggest sizes at the bottom of the piles

Glad you're here Nem… you make up for my lack of cool pics and attitude...
Like this thread G, I'll chime in
I lost some weight (though not as much as AFTRMTH, congrats big time there) which brings the extra benefit of having to buy new clothes... and I found IH along the way, I'm sure G has appreciated that...
But more so my life is going to change soon. I'll turn 32 this summer and at the same time will finally be finished with postgrad training, been in school/training straight through basically my whole life, in July my family and I will move, start a new job, sell the house where we started our family, and within the same month will have our 4th child (the oldest won't yet be even 5...). So yeah, things they are a-changin' for me.
Let's hear more
