@flavour79 I'm with you there. Hoping to snag a pair of the IH-888-UHR (same jean, different patch) upon release.

No worries. Have you had any word on how they turned out sizing wise?

I need help!! I have the 888-NT’s on order and now I am second guessing if they are the right choice for me.
I love the 634’s and the Beetle Busters that I have, but I am trying to figure out if the 666’s would be the better cut for me. I like the appearance of a straight leg better and I am wondering if the taper of the 888’s are too extreme for my tastes.
So I really have three questions:
1). Is the taper really noticeable?
2). Does the taper of the 888’s wear well with boots? (I typically wear Wesco Boss, Loggers, and Cowboy Boots.)
3). Since the Beetle Busters were similar to the 634’s (but slimmer overall), would the 666’s be closer to the 634’s/Beetle Busters or are the 888’s closer?I like the thought of the UHR denim, but don’t want to make a decision based on the denim alone.
I am really torn/confused.

I’ve been in the same boat for a while (only I’m concerned about the rise rather than taper.) The answers probably won’t be known until people get them in their hands I’m afraid.
One thing of note is that depending on your size, Self Edge still has some 634 and 666 pairs in UHR showing as available on their site. No contest patch, stealth arcs or bronze rivets, but if it’s just the fabric you’re into those could be options.

1. Yes, but not super noticeable like some cuts I've seen. In other words, it's not too drastic it's just right.
2. I'm not sure as I never wear boots
3. All I can say is that the 888 is a completely different cut than the 634. The 888 has a higher rise and tapers from the thigh down but it's not a drastic taper….it's damn near perfect IMO.I have generally always been a more classic, straight leg fit type of guy. The 634 was my preferred IH denim cut......until I picked up the 888. I had never been too crazy about higher rise jeans or jeans that have a drastic taper but the 888 cut is damn near perfect (did I say that already). Such a flattering cut that works so well with any type of top or shoe IMO. I really think you should give it a shot if the thighs work for you.

The 888 is a kind of BBx634 hybrid. It has a top block and upper thigh that is similar to the 634 and a higher rise like the BB. The BB's have a slight taper too.
The taper is not extreme at all. It's not a carrot cut. Because it's spread over the length of the whole jean it appears gentle. This means that the hem isn't too narrow, but nor is it as flappy as the 634. I wear my 888S with my Wesco Boss all the time.

I really want to thank you guys!!
I started envisioning the carrot cut and I could not get it out of my mind. There are a couple of pictures of the 888S where I loved the silhouette, and a couple where the hem looked tight.
When you wear boots all of the time, you start to worry about the hem. Especially when you get the boots custom made to fit you calves.

Also, they look great with boots

No carrot cut with the 888 at all IMO.

You guys can really put a mind at ease. I’m going to try the 888’s.
This reminds me of the first time I bought any jeans from Ironheart (634’s). Worried about the cost, fit, and trying to figure out what made them so special.
Well it’s been two years since that purchase and I am very deep down the rabbit hole. Nothing comes close to the quality and the craftsmanship of this line of clothing. They fit (every time when you trust the numbers), durable, and the quality is unmatched!
Please keep up the great work!!
