IH-888-NT - 21/23oz indigo Selvedge DWC Jeans
THE NAMA TAKO EDITION
For the 2017-2019 Denim World Contest (DWC), we are making a 21/23oz (AKA - UHR or Ultra Heavy Raw) version of the new 888 cut, which is a high-rise tapered cut. The cut is not as extreme retro as, say the 1955 501, but it should work for a variety of body types included those of you with "athletic" thighs.
Sizes 29 to 36, 38, 40, 42 & 44
Price will be USD374
We are asking for a 50% non-refundable deposit with pre-order. Please note, that pre-ordering does NOT commit you to buying that size, it is there to give us some idea of what we should make. If you change shape before we ship and/or the target sizing is off, you will of course, be able to change size.
Pre-orders will close of 18th July.
Target sizing for shrunk/washed IH-888NT. Please remember that these jeans will be shipped raw, so will be a little larger than these dimensions out of the box.
NOTE- Production version will have indigo arcuates:

splendid. i was just comparing these to the 634s in the same size (40) and i see that the rise of the 634s is slightly larger 1/10 of an inch or so. i noticed on the sample pair photos that there is an extra button in the fly? 5 buttons including the top button. the 634s has 4. why the extra button? i know the 888 is tapered. what are the other differences? thanks
-
The difference in rise reduces as the tag size gets larger, we tried to normalise the rise over the size range…
Larger thigh
More taper from the knee to the cuff - large guys don't necessarily wear boats (yes boats)Loads of constructional differences....
ok, thanks… er what are boats and why dont i wear them??
-
thank you. size 11 for the record.

Brand new cut in the denim I always wanted. I might have to do this.
@Giles I'm assuming this is the last of the 21/23oz fabric?

We have in total enough for about 350/400 pairs left. Because we have to make many more jeans than pre-orders to allow us to juggle actual orders versus pre-orders, we will make a parallel run of IH-888-UHR (same jean, different patch), which will use a few more yards of denim up….
BTW - UHR in Arizona........ :o :o :o

lol…I know! Hey if the Pronto guys can wear the heavy denims in their climate than I should be able to do it in AZ right???
IIRC you have said (or someone at IHUK) that this is extremely dense and unbreathable denim?
