IHSH-177 - 18oz Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo

By the sounds of things XXL might be right for you. I’d go XL in the 177 and take XL in UHF’s. I could get into an L 33 without a problem although it maybe fitted.
Judging by the photos you are like 6'3" with wide shoulders/athletic build, yet you could consider wearing a 33 in L? I call sorcery.

Only 6’ (6’2” in Wesco [emoji1]) and I weigh 202lbs. An L would work although it would be snug. I’d maybe go XL because of shrinkage. The 177/8 is all shrunk out so you won’t have that problem.
I think the wisdom is to go with your standard IH size with these but I guess how you wear it may play a part. If your looking at layering as is intended or if you’ll wear it over a tee or a-shirt.

I used to have the IHSH-76 which was the og version but it was a little big for me so I moved it on. I miss it badly but the fit wasn’t right.
You know, I had the same issue with the 178. I had picked it up in a size L, same as my UHFs, but it just never fit quite right. I had to keep telling myself "this looks great!", but the sleeves were too long.
I had the opportunity to try a M at SE:LA and instantly fell in love. Some might say the fit was kinda small but not me (I'll post pics soon). Since then, I've practically been living in that shirt. I put it on as soon as I get up and it stays on me until I fall asleep. I'm so glad I sized down on it, I recommend you try sizing down if yours was a tad big, because it's too practical, tough, and beautiful to skip!

@Paul9221 I think it's something about the way the 76/99's and the 177/178's are cut. They are designed as jackets that look like shirts, (longer sleeves, longer in the body and slightly wider through the middle, and intended to be worn over layers (hoodies/shirts). I don't look good (or feel comfortable) in that double shirt combo that a lot of folks around here rock so well. The point being if you want to wear these badboys as a shirt over a tee or a singlet (my preference) then tts or size down.
