[emoji120] buddy. Couldn't agree more with your assessment. Go get your jacket out, put it on and take a snap [emoji991] [emoji6]Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
Ha. I've been wearing my new 14oz OD several hours a day for a few weeks now, but not a sniff of evo, so might give up on that and work on the 101 and sbg. The 21oz sbg seems a lot softer than the 21oz 101, which really needs some work.

Fresh out the bag. This jacket is a straight up beastly.

Looks very good on you, @ton312 . The harder you wear it the better.

Thanks! Man it’s unvelievably stiff. I’m going to abuse it to the best of my ability in the coming months. Fit feels great, it’s noticeably trimmer in the sleeves than my 526pj and IH-77. Hopefully they’ll give a little with wear.

^ very nice indeed. I want one too.
I was going to wait for the blanket lined equivalent but that’s down the road enough to hopefully have each one. This stuff is addictive!
-
The denim will soften with wear, for sure.
The addictive nature of this gear is the reason why I don’t have one of these despite having wanted one since they came out. Truth is there is barely a jacket IH makes that I’m not at least theoretically partial too l and I have more than I could ever hope to use to death already.

I was able to grab the last XL and it just showed up today. Nope, it's not going back!
I think XL was the right choice for me. I'm 6'1" 175-ish and the fit is perfect. Arm length is good, shoulders feel good, can button it up without it feeling too constraining.
This is my first foray into the Iron Heart brand or heavy denim for that matter. This jacket is tough! Impressed with the quality and look forward to wearing it often.
Someday when it's broken in more I'll check back with pics.

Great jacket, great purchase @Cheddar_Curtain

I've been wearing this pretty often for the last month and some change. Hand washed it once. It's finally starting to soften up and stretch a bit. These are not easy to break in, but worthwhile.
Also have to say this thing is a head turner. People look twice and one of my co-workers came up and just started touching it for no reason. My dad even liked it, he wore a lot of Lee Rider jackets back in his day.
That red stitching on the inside is a phenomenal touch.

These measurements make me anxious about the upcoming Stormrider jacket - would you veterans expect the blanket lined jacket to have some more room? I couldn't fit anything other than a T-shirt under the XXXL 101J and really hope to get another layer under the Stormrider.

No way to tell. Firstly, different iterations of the same design come up differently for a whole load of reasons. This is true of shirts, jeans, sweats, you name it.
Secondly, the blanket lining is a game changer. Sometimes lined items are made to account for the thickness (the IHJ-50 for example) other times you have to size up (the Ihsh-105 and 106). We don’t know how this will go.
Fingers crossed for you.

This monster arrived yesterday. First impressions are exactly what one would expect from a jacket like this. And the fact that it’s the riffblaster general jacket is super rad.
I’m not sure how they managed to make this jacket soft and stiff at the same time but they did, and I’m sure there was witchcraft involved.
It’s so much more wearable out of the box then the superblack vest which is a stiff and heavy bastard. I know it’s not the same denim, and how much different is explained somewhere on here I’m sure.
The fit is pretty spot on for what I’m after. I could likely get a IH thermal and UHF under this comfortably, but even with an UHF it’s not too roomy which was my fear sizing to a large.
As usual IH service is stellar and Graham found one that worked, so many thanks to him.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beautiful contrast to the pant and great write up @mahlon321

So I’ve been living with this jacket for a week now and only yesterday did I realize that it has the zig zag stitching down the front around the button holes. It’s black stitching on a black jacket so it’s barely noticeable, or I need to be more observant…..This is the little detail on the 101j jackets that I really dig. Glad it made it to this one.
